Im a west coast (sunshine/lake louise) kid weighing in at around 190+ lbs and 6'3 pretty much dead set on getting kartel 98s as my daily driver and park ski. Im just unsure on 186 or 181 as i do a decent amount of tree runs and for park as well. which should i go for?
I am also about 6'2 and I bought a set of 182 Armada Alpha x's (not really sure if they are comparable to ON3P's, but similar waist width) as a sort of fun all mountain/park ski. While they were nice and light/easy to spin in the 182 length, whenever I was not doing tricks, or i was out of the park, I always found myself wanting a much longer ski. A longer ski will likely provide a lot more stability at speed, and more control in variable terrain, and if you like going fast then it will really benefit your all mountain skiing. If you are willing to put up with a little bit more swing weight, then you will find a longer ski will be more versatile out of the park and you won't have to compromise all mountain performance for the sake of lower swing weight. This is just from my experience, hope this helps! :)
Looks like ON3P only makes the Kartel 98 in a 186.
I would say that you should get either the Kartel 98 in a 186 or even the Kartel 108 in a 191. The Kartel 108 would be a great all mountain ski and still handle park very well.
I'm 6'3 185 and ride the 186cm kartel 98. I wouldn't get any shorter, I think they could be like 188cm and it would be perfect size for park and all mountain
