I said this in another post. But I thought I should say it in this one as well:
I am a large fan of Tanner Hall and everything he does on skis, but he was lucky to get second. As far as technical ability goes, doing a cork 5, cork 9, and cork 10 all on the same wall, and two with the exact same grab should not be rewarded well. Jon should have come second, maybe even CR or Dan Marion fourth. Halfpipe skiing and skiing in general is about showcasing a variety of different tricks, and Tanner simply did not do it and was rewarded too much. Dumont didn't rotate past seven, but each of his tricks were different and had different grabs. That is what should be rewarded, and it was rightfully so. Good work to the judges.
Hall had some tight tricks, Dumont had amplitude. which to choose? obviously amplitude this time as well.. Hall looked like he was going to freak out for a second..
i agree with most people here, today tanner was robbed, but again so was Jon. that guy is just amazingly smooth.
but overall the pipe comp was disgusting. only 9 guys in the finals, and most people bailed in 2 if not all 3 of their runs just trying to go for broke. If they took best 2 of 3, tanner would have won, and Jon would have deservedly had 2nd. that bitch dumont would have had one good run and thats it.
oh and we got totally embarressed by the boarders this year. disgusting.
'Has you ever had an abortion? Surely you should try something before you say it is bad. Because I was very anti-Burger King, but then I went there and I had the flame grilled, ain't it, and you know it was like amazing.'-Ali G
'the devil only exists beacuse of your belief in him, same goes for that other guy'
yea i was thinkin that too, why would u go up and start asking tanner why he lost? wat an asshole thing to do, losing is hard especially after his last few years results and domination of the comp scene... its also especially hard to lose when you should have won.
Some folks look for answers, others look for fights
Some folks up in tree tops, just looking for their kites
Goes to show, you don't ever know
Watch each card you play and play it slow
How come tanner seemed to spray simon on every run when he was standing at the bottom? Even in slope he did.. is it because he knew simon would own in pipe...it was nice how simon was stoked for everyone who came down and when hall lost he just walked away in a glass box of emotion.
i guess you'd rather t hall not care about his efforts in pipe, his failure to 4 peat. i think i'd be real pissed off if i didn't throwdown like i needed to. you might think hell silvers isn't bad at all but when you got gold in your eye then thats all you want to see. T has a right to pissed off and to be upset, he had alot of pressure to pull gold. volkl karma: it's the sickest thing to ever happen to skiing
