So I have a couple questions I'll roll into one thread here...
I'm 5'10 about 170lbs, Mid-west to EastCoast, I've always has mid-stiff 175 camber planks, not a crazy go big skier, I'll hit the booters and rails but rarely throw anything more than 360... but thought I'd try something different. The truth is, I'm mid 30's and still trying to rep on the hill, however, the crowd I roll with (wife and couple friends) are more decked out in lodge gear and spend their time just doddling down, while I look like a thug and do park laps alone. So I'm looking to find something that I can butter around on and make any feature, no matter how pathetic, a little fun while I roll with them but still make a couple park laps.
So first question, does ski length affect butter-ability? It seems like a longer ski would have more area to flex..
Next, if I'm used to 175 cambered, I know rockered ride "shorter", should I stick with 175 or bump it up just a bit?
What will the biggest difference in feel be between stiff camber and soft rocker? I assume they will be a little unstable at first...are they harder to skate in the flats? Trickier on ice?
Then of course I could use some ideas for a soft rocker, I've got a small list I've been compiling:
Atomic Infamous
Liberty Antigens
Faction Idiom
J Skis Whipits
*These look like more park friendly designs and might not be best for icy or slush
Line Blends
Faty L-Toro
Candide 2.0
J Skis All-Play
*These all-mountain designs look fairly floppy in videos I've seen
Any others you'd add to the list? (left out K2 Shreds, just hate the topsheet)
