I'm around 5'11 140 pounds and I need help on ski sizes.
I want to get some bent chetlers but have no idea if I should get 185 or 178, Im leaning toward the 178 but any input would be great

SofaKingSickyeah no those wont drag you around (assuming youre a decent skier)

yzzidI'm just worried the 185 will be too much ski but if I get the 178 I feel like I'll look down and they'll feel hella short especially after I'm in my boots and the bindings are on.

.Hugo.1. Quit thinking about it
2. Buy the 185s
3. Thank me later
Jigglewhere do you spend most of your time skiing? if its in the park, i would say 178 for sure, unless you are still growing. And also considering your weight, 178 might be a better choice. It really depends on what type of skiing you do. Longer skis obviously provide more stability than shorter skis, but that comes at the cost of added swing weight, which will make spins etc more difficult. However, if you don't ski park a whole lot, that probably shouldn't concern you much.
tomPietrowskiI have spent a bit of time on the bents and honestly I would prob go 178. Im 5'11 and 170lbs and the 185 feels good to me but its still a big ski. Seeing how you dont weigh much you dont need that extra surface area of the 185 to help you float so going for the 178 will make the skis lighter so easier to throw around and also more maneuverable in the trees and tight terrain. The 185 will be quite a bit of ski for you but that is not to say you cant ride it. If your style is more straightline everything at mach 10 then the 185 will be the one to go for but if you want to be more playfull then the 178 will be a better choice.
yzzidThanks for the great advice! It's just hard to decide because I'm 17 and I've been saving up to buy a pair of bents for a while so I gotta make the decision for which lenght. Mostly everyone Has said 185 but u actually have experience on the bents. I just don't know who's advice to take haha. I am done growing but I will probably gain weight in the future but no more than like 15 pounds. I'm so indecisive haha. I definitely want more of a playful ski but I'm worried 178 is just gonna feel small. I have been told that because of the rocket and early rise on the bent chetlers that I should have a longer ski because they ski short. What do yo think?
