Caffeine Addiction

Hello everyone,

I am a college student and I used to not drink coffee, however pretty recently I have started to get into it. And the affects that I get from the caffeine are pretty good; I usually just become more alert and stuff. So it can be pretty helpful. I usually only have one cup every other day. I am wondering though if anyone has any personal experience with caffeine addiction? also will having a cup of coffee every other day cause me to become addicted to caffeine sooner or later?

how much coffee will it take to become addicted to caffeine?

Unless you're the addictive type or you're slamming 5 cups a day, you shouldn't get addicted. I have a cup or two every day and I don't feel the need to drink it other than the fact that I enjoy the taste

There's no way you can get addicted by orally ingesting caffeine. You gotta slam that shit up the sniffer bro.

Start with those coffee machine packages. They're ground very finely so nothing gets stuck in your nostrils. I've done it, you get a hell of a buzz. With time and experience you'll be sniffing raw beans, good luck.

It depends on how you define addiction. Hide some peoples coffee in the morning and then say "You can't get addicted to coffee" .

It's not something that ruins peoples lives, but some people are fucking monsters in the morning until they've had a cup or two. Also some large exams won't let people drink coffee. Sometimes people have to quit or cut down on the coffee in the weeks leading up to major tests like that.

Withdrawal symptoms are pretty mild like headaches and minor shakes. You really shouldn't be drinking that much coffee. just learn to manage your time well enough to get enough sleep. If you need coffee don't drink that much. shouldn't be too hard.

You'll be fine, you gotta be drinking several cups a day to worry about addiction/withdrawals. Withdrawals can suck though, worst I got was the 2nd day of cold turkey, woke up with a pounding migraine that hurt so bad I puked and it felt like I had the flu all day. If you're drinking a lot of coffee and are looking to cut back, taper off, do NOT cold turkey it

I mean people who complain in general get annoying but shocking people are different. Some people are better in the morning than others. Tune in next week for more riveting scientific discoveries.

Don't worry about the addiction its pretty minor. This addiction has the potential to get you a 4.0

The real struggle is being able to wake up each morning. Do you NEED coffee to talk to someone? Or can you just hop out of bed no problem?

Caffeine is awesome OP. I drink it every day. This website,
http://www.caffeineinformer.com/death-by-caffeine , is pretty fun it will tell you how much caffeine is in most drinks and how much will kill you. Personally I think tea and coffee have a way better effect than energy drinks.

I drink several cups a day but have no need for it in the morning. Honestly a good night sleep and a good morning routine/breakfast have a way better effect than caffeine in the morning. Usually drink coffee later in the day to pump out schoolwork or before i work out

Ive been through the coffee addiction, Now I drink 1 cup pretty dark coffee in the morning but thats it. If I have a test or something really big ill drink a little more but I dont want a tolerance again, and enjoy being able to be affected by caffeine. Any more and I have trouble sleeping anymore, but thats how the addiction starts.....more coffee high...more weed+alcohol to fall asleep...then more coffee to be more awake...and so on

I just down two cups of either black or coffee with just milk in the morning and afternoon to keep kicking, the only real downside to it is the shits if you drink it first thing in the morning or the withdrawal headaches you get when you go without it

Actually 5 cups a day is still a very healthy amount. Thing is, a cup of coffee is actually 4 ounces, or one half a normal cup.

Lol a cup every other day your fine fam, I drink 1-2 pots a day, I work at a coffee shop and am drinking coffee as a type this. It will take a longggggggggggggg time to get addicted off a cup every other day. If you do its not that bad when you dont have caffeine its just a headache and you're a little tired/grumpy for a few days. Sorry if that sounded dick, its meant to be helpful.

I get annoyed by coffee. With my mom I can tell when she has had coffee or when she hasn't had it based on how she is acting. I'd say she's addicted. Pretty sure she drinks about 3-4 cups a day usually. Yeah you could say it has benefits, but when you get withdrawals from something it ain't no joke.

I never used to drink coffee either, because I worked in a coffee shop, and the day old decaf always smelled like cat pee to me.

But now I drink it every day, I also drink way too much red bull. It takes a shit load to get "addicted". My old roommate would drink a pot a day. But did not need it to be a functioning human, she just liked coffee.
