Heyo,
I've got a 2012 Macbook Pro (not retina) 2.9ghz i7, with 16gb of ram, 2750gb of internal storage (OG 9,2 750gb hdd, and an optical drive delete with 2tb hdd).
Well taken care of, works like a champ, but with 2 drives, 16gb of ram, and just in general being the powerhouse that it is, the battery life is shorter than i'd like.
Planning on building an editing machine and picking up a Macbook Air for daily use, because the lack of longterm mobility has me feelin weak. For someone looking for a great portable editing computer, this thing hauls Spotify, Chrome, Lightroom, Photoshop, and iMessage simultaneously like a dream. Well overpowered, and the 9,2 is widely loved by the folks who appreciate being able to mod their macs out.
THis came with 8gb of ram, and 750gb of storage, and when the time came that i needed more, i unscrewed the screws, popped in 16gb of ram and a 2tb drive in, and called it a day.
No, it isnt going to outperform a fully loaded 2016 15" macbook pro that costs 3200$, but it will go toe to toe with most average setups.
I'll post pics if there is interest, there are 2x knicks on the shell, and a few scratches on the bottom plate, as is normal for a computer that has been used for 4 years.
Lets maybe try $1100 OBO?
