Fks loose ass heel pieces. Safe???

Looking into buying a set of barely used k2 shreditors (2013???) comes with old black rossi fks 18's. The heel pieces have ALOT of play, says on the ski that "bindings need to be looked at". The guys selling for 165$ for skis and bindings.

The guy at the the second wind sports place (I don't think he knew what he was talking about...) said that you could, and would need to, rebuild the heel pieces??????? I went to a local shop to confirm and they had never herd a fks rebuild....

WOULD LOVE TO SKI SOME 18's but worried their too old and sketchy, any input helps!

specifically the upper 2 arms leading from the half moon plate to the actual heel piece have play...

if your talking about where the arms connect to the baseplate, I have a pair of gold 120s with the same problem. They still seemed to function for me and weren't very shaky when I was clipped in but they sketched me out enough that I kept them on my shittier skis.

I'd say it's worth it if your interested in the skis too, but if u just want the bindings I'd pass them and look elsewhere

i bought a ski with the same issue where basically the arms feel loose. Had them inspected at a reputable shop and was told they were good to go. The arms didn't affect the action of the actual heel piece releasing/ it had not effect on the spring etc.

If anyone has this prob (its been bummed) if you mean your heal moves around a bit when clipped in it could be the the forward pressure setting of the binding(in pivots) can be adjusted by the sticks, and the forward pressure indicator is the little white tab under the dildo it should be in between the two lines. The sticks (metal pieces that go up to the dildo) have to be adjusted evenly so prob just best to go to ur shop.

you can actually replace the black arm piece that attaches to the pivot assembly if the threads strip. If it gets really wobbly eventually the heel piece can rip right out. Most shops probably have tons of those black things lying around because they come with the brakes.

I've got a pair that is loose...never bothered me and once I step in the play is completely gone. Never had a problem, but I also don't entirely trust them.
