What do you think? Snapchat is supposedly filing for an IPO to raise $4B at a valuation for $35B. Put another way, a 24 year old Stanford graduate thinks his app is more valuable than Tesla. I don't use Snapchat but many of my friends are obsessed with it. The CEO turned down zuckeberg's offer to buy Snapchat and recently got engaged to model Miranda Kerr who will sign a famous prenup. That's all. I would go for Kalry Klaus first

Snapchat's money is stock, investors are extremely excited about investing in these super popular apps and then cashing in when they go public.
Tesla in a sense is much smaller, more niche in a way, not everyone can buy a tesla, but everyone can use snapchat. But if I chose one stock to invest in, it would be tesla.
Snapchat is able to reach a much greater audience than tesla. As stupid as it sounds I think that Snapchat might actually be worth more without doing too much research into it. Tesla has a very niche market and is only able to cater to the wealthy while Snapchat can cater to almost anyone on this planet who has access to a smartphone.
Also I'm going to guess that because of this snapchat is able to have a higher profit margin especially when you consider that they are able to have advertisements and partnerships with different brands/companies. While snapchats user audience is growing teslas is basically going to stay the same or grow but not nearly as much as snapchats.
I'm probably completely wrong but basically what I'm trying to say is that there are more people who have a use for snapchat than a tesla. Also snapchat is something that only really needs to rely on their users to market its product while tesla will need to rely on many different forms of media in order to market its product and sell its product. Not to mention they have to spend a hell of a lot money in order to show a profit.

Very wise insight i can afford a free app still a handful of years away from owning my tesla lol
tesla isnt really making any money at the moment so its not that attractive to investors but snap chat is making shit tons because of the low over head.
Give it a few years when people actually start to realize how fucked we are because of oil and climate change and a lot more people will think tesla is worth a whole lot more.
