Thalls or AR5's

thalls are 350, ar5's are 389. I ski about 50/50 park, but I do have a pair of original pe's(from about 3 yrs ago). They definitely hold there own outside the park so that doesnt worry me that much. I'm kinda looking for a pair of skis for park, and to butter and goof off on the side of the trail with. That's why i'm leaning toward the tanner...plus the tanner;s cheaper. Any input would be great.

go with the ar5's if they are cheaper...same ski...just doesnt have a pre fucked up edge...probably will hold up better on the other terrain as well

and please dont bring up anything about the prerounded edges...I'm not even taking that into consideration, because any skis i have will have prerounded edges after 3 runs...

word t halls no doubt. I saw then in real life for the first time and i got to flex them and i wasl ike holy shit these are sick. If anyone wants to trade brand new troublemakers + rossi power 120s for t halls let me know

how the hell are you getting them for 350. I rode them and felt that they really do suck badly outside of park, but if you just want a park ski get them but the ar5 is and excelent park ski that skis anything else well too. I would get ar5

only get the thalls if you plan on riding 100% park.

teh dull edges won't be that big of deal. If you do a lot of rails already then you should know what it's like to ski with dull edges, it won't fucking matter that much like everyone says it will

I know the edges dont worry at all..I ski'd with a pair of tm's that were missing 2 ft of edge for 3 months...the flex is the only thing i'm a little bit skeptical about because i've never owned a soft ski...but at the same time i'm really interested in getting something completely different...but i will certainly be taking runs outside of the park prob like 30% of the time when im riding these.
this review scared me a bit:The softest ski I have ever skied on, the tanner hall pro model is as close to jib perfection as you can get. Great life in the tail provides for big ollies and easy butters. The swing weight of the ski makes big spins and inverts almost effortless. A park rats dream..hmmm...that was right after he reviewed the fuji's

they take off switch the same as regular no joke. I tore my acl second day on them cuz I underestimated the pop and landed in the flats throwing a five at Alpine Meadows. I'm pretty sre next years are the same just white with a full size run instead of just 176cm which is tight.

there soft in the tails and tips but stiff underfoot. havent tryed em though and i dont know if that helps at all but there it is anyway

i have the STLs (177), which i am venturing to say are pretty similar, although i have never been on the thalls. so i am making this post based off the fact that they are pretty much the same. the stls rip in the park, like nothing i have ever dreamed of. as for taking them out of the park, not horribly great. but as long as you are a decent skier you will be fine. its not like you wont even be able to make it down the hill or anything. i say if if you can get the tanner for 350, jump on it, i dont think you will be dissapointed.
