RodiganPretty funky looking ski. Product video doesn't really give too much away, anyone ridden the ski and if so how does it perform ?
cydwhitI have ridden it, but you're going to need to be more specific with your question!
AuschieWhat's up with the slanted tips and tails?
I think he's curious how it skis considering it's fully rockered but not marketed as a straight up pow only ski.
MethodologyI emailed the local ski shop that stocks Moment about the Meridian. Here's what their response was:
"I've had a lap or two on the Meridian, and I loved it in 3 or 4 inches of new snow and crud, but I wasn't as pumped on it for hardpack turns. Don't get me wrong, it can rip on hard snow, but it's not that playful - it's good for really laying down carved turns, but you need to lay it over and engage that edge, so it's some aggressive carving rather than playful. Overall, like usual, Moment made another great ski when they made the Meridian."
link80We definitely consider the Meridian to be an all mtn ski. Its full rocker is super mellow at a 33m radius @ 181cm with an even tighter sidecut radius. Here at Moment we think it rails super fast edge to edge but everyone is entitled to their own opinions. When the above reviewer says that it's "not that playful" I disagree. As I said, we think its fast edge to edge and when you stand centered on the ski it can be loose and playful due to its rocker profile. What the reviewer may have been meaning to articulate is that it doesn't give you as much life back out of a turn as a traditionally cambered ski because it doesnt have any camber.
If you want to chat more about the ski shoot me an email, luke@momentskis.com or give us a call directly at the Moment factory: 775-527-1595
Thanks for the interest.
MethodologyI think that's what he was alluding to yeah... That the Meridian doesn't pop out of a carve like a camber ski does... Maybe "playful" wasn't the best word choice, but I just copied that message from someone who had skied them.
Fully rockered skies do tend to be playful in every other context I think. It certainly sounded like Paul Forward at Blister had fun on the Meridian from his flash review.
ExileHayingAnybody know if the images on he meridian have any meaning? There are 2 images that several buddies of mine have brought up as being either racially charged or satanic. The 2 lightening bolts almost look like the symbol for the ss which and also the triangle and cross. I didn't even notice them when I looked at them the first time but curious IF there is any meaning.

Young_pattyanyone know how these hold up in the park? I dig wide park skis and was gonna get either another pair of Pb&j's or the Meridians.
tcurleMy buddy Garrett has them as his park ski. They're fun but keep in mind they are 107mm underfoot.
Young_pattyAny word on how stuff they are? I like having stable landings but at the same time I like to press, butter and play around. Also not really worried about the 107 underfoot
ZypherHandflexing, they're definitely on the stiffer side of things. I haven't ridden them but im sure that their rockered nature will be nice for laying down some super nice butters. That being said, the PB&J is definitely more park oriented.
