mike_eWere you able to drop cliffs or take airs deep on natural features without worry of the binding blowing up? I'm not going that huge, maybe 30ish foot cliffs max. I only weigh around 140 so I don't think it would be an issue. Also where are you located?
The biggest cliff I took with them was a low-speed maybe 15 footer to a not-so-steep landing so the impact was a little harsh. The bigger tests were skiing hard/fast on crispy chunder where the skis were bouncing all over the place and sending fun natural jumps (biggest being mayyybe 40ft) into choppy snow. I did do a couple park laps with the fattys but didn't land switch on anything bigger than a well built 30fter. I'm 160lbs so I feel you'll be just fine with them especially if you never had issues with freeride type bindings that are 12/13 DIN. The design is really solid using all metal where the heel connects to the touring release function with multiple contact points. I wasn't concerned about it ripping out at all.
I'm just outside of Park City but commute to SLC for work.
