ACL Exercise Routine

Hey Everybody,

So I had ACL reconstructive surgery in June, did everything right with going to physiotherapy etc.. Now i'm starting to get let's say 'bored' of the exercises provided and want to increase my workout load to try and be ready for the upcoming ski season.

I am by no means a fitness expert of know every exercise out there. So what I'm asking if anyone has any routines they used when they tore their ACL or just suggestions in general.

I am no expert but I would say be VERY careful. My physio gave me instructions when I left after ACL surgery rehab. She told me to work hard but go up very slowly in weights. Don't let boredom cause you to make a decision you will regret.

You might make another appointment with your physio and pay out of pocket, I'm assuming your insurance is done paying. This will give you a program to follow. Whatever you do don't try to do anything way out of your comfort zone.

I was able to get my PT extended by 3 months and this allowed me to up my intensity in the care of a professional.

I had no idea this was possible, so it's worth looking into.

I agree with everyone so far again I am no expert but had mine rebuilt in Feb.. Im at the point now where it feels stronger but isn't 100%. Deff going to be careful... Having maybe 2-3 different workouts has kept me from being "bored" also I do a lot of balance exercises as i've read online that are great for a ACL rehab also ride my road bike as much as possible as both doctors an PT's emphasized thats awesome an low impact
