Spinning unnatural is kind of dumb

WIllWIf you come across a natural feature or maybe a feature that can only be hit to one side(hip, handrail with drop on the side.. etc) then it may be in your best interest to know how to do a trick both ways so you don't end up missing out.

FredyFerlWell I don't know for jumps but I find unnatural tricks on rails pretty fun, there's some tricks that are actually funner unnatural, and it's a different feeling.
Also, there's only so many tricks in skiing, so learning tricks both ways is a good way to double your bag of tricks, and learning tricks the unnatural way makes you step out of your comfort zone, which is a good thing. And watching someone spin like a top always on the same side can get pretty repetitive
It's like if you said that riding a skateboard or a snowboard switch is stupid, or that it looks bad. There's some skaters/snowboarders that have really good switch style. With skiing it's a bit different since it's only a way of spinning, but still, someone like Wallisch for example, I enjoy watching him do unnatural tricks, it's impressive to see.

Saga.Always believed you should aspire to be able to do everything all ways. It shows how much skill and control you have if you can make all the different ways of doing a trick look comfortable. Take skateboarding for example. There are a lot of skaters who you can't even tell anymore if they are regular, switch, fakie or nollie. Not learning to do unnatural tricks really just limits your trick bag.

SteveSteppa few years ago i would have agreed with you. But ever since my USSA coach delivered severe and frequent lashings, i've since changed my mind.

-its like when you try to impress people by writing with your non dominant hand and your writing is really shitty but still somewhat legible and you feel good about yourself for writing it but then you realize it looks shitty

-x games announcers will top you off
-if you do an ugly trick and your self-esteem gets lowered you can tell people it was unnatural but they won't really care because it still looked shitty
-your abusive coach will give you less lashes after "training" because with your unnatural maneuvers you have secured yourself a spot on the podium and are en route to being the best skier on the circuit
-thats about it
