Pink name ski recommendation

A friend of mine is looking for new skis. I told her I'd see what you ski bums might recommend for her. She says she like short skis. At her local shop, she was recommended to ride 130cm. Seems a little short to me, but here's the details.

5'4", 125lbs, says she's about a 6.5/10 for ability (10 being you clowns). She's skied for 8-9 years. She's on the east coast, in Newfoundland. Skiing mostly groomers.

What do ya think?

130 is way too short. she's 5'4" which is 162.5 cm. yeah her ability is reported too high, but that doesnt mean she should be on ski blades lol.



revision makes their talisman in 156 and has a white and purple topsheet that girls might like more than the black one or the white one.. either way there are options for looks. and the ski is soft + rides a lil short so is maneuverable.

Something in155-160 range is what she should be looking for. Maybe 155
Ish if she wants something to spin faster on.

130 seems excessively short. I'm 5'2 and my shortest ski is 164. But I also ski a stupid amount and live on the west coast.

My first few years skiing I skied 155's on piste and I never felt like they were too much ski, or difficult to manage. I think something 155-160 would be just right especially if she gets a ski with some tip rocker then I'd lean towards 160.

I'm also 5'4" 125-130 am still fairly new to skiing and ride 164 chronics in the midwest (so all groomers and park). I feel like if I rode anything shorter than that I might as well just have some ski blades instead.

As for skis, I saw some people say Talisman shortys and chronics. Both great choices and same with some blends or Armada AR7s (i guess theyre AR8s now). Really, just look at some durable 7ish flex skis in the high 150s to high 160 length range. Honestly, I ski in the PNW so most of the skis I look at are 100 plus in the waist. For her, Id look a bit lower than that, maybe in the high 80s and 90s because I'm guessing yall dont get much pow over there.

http://en-us.k2skis.com/skis/remedy-92 would be my pick. It's just the women's version of the shredditor line up. I would go with the 163 unless she's absolutely certain she wants tiny skis, remember the rocker will make them ski short.

K2 makes really damp, heavy (not easily pushed off course) predictable skis. They are also crazy durable, I put 150+ days on my recoils (same ski just the mens version) and they looked brand new still, just lost their pop. I feel like they are great skis for bridging the gap from an intermediate skier over to a more advanced-expert skier. I know she's not a beginner, but that article is really just a general argument for why those specs in particular make for a good single quiver ski at any ability level.
