Purely Backcountry/Volcano Ski

Hey NS,
I'm 150 lbs, 5'11" and usually rip on 185cm Armada JJs, which I love!
Looking into dropping into a purely backcountry/volcano touring setup. A lot of people say you should go shorter such as 177 cm (Armada Kufo 103) for a setup like that for better maneuverability in technical and steep terrain.
What are your thoughts on going shorter for a pure touring setup?
Thanks!

You'll see better, or I guess any responses, to this question AT & BC section of the forums.

I know this guy who walks around on volcanoes a lot and he said the ON3P Steeple 98 was a pretty tight volcano ski.
That would probably be my first choice (maybe in the 179 if I was your size) right now but there are a lot of great options out there.
