Replying to Skiing at Colorado State

So I'm a senior in highschool from Michigan and just got back from looking at CU Boulder and Colorado State. I liked CSU significantly more however it being 2.5 hours from skiing seems like a drawback. I'm used to getting 60-80 days a year in Michigan since I live only 25 minutes from a local hill. Would it be realistic to do this living in Fort Collins or would I probaly only have time to ski on the weekends due to the distance from the mountains?
