Nikon Recommendations, Refurbished?

What up NS

so I currently work for Redbull and need to buy a camera for my job. I've had point and shoot cameras and go pros before but wanna finally pull the trigger and snag a DSLR. My brother has a nikon d5200 and already has a nice lens quiver so I wanna get a nikon. Right now I'm leaning towards buying a refurbished D3200 off BH for 399$.

Would it be worth the extra money to buy the D5300 for 549$?

Also what are peoples experiences with buying refurbished off BH?

I'll mainly be shooting photos of events that Redbull is having but also want to have a camera that I can film with and take up to the hill with buddies.

Open to other nikon suggestions as well,

Just about any new body will do you for now. Spend the extra money on good lenses. That's where you will see the most improvement in your images. Sharpness and colour are much better in more expensive lenses, which you can usually find used.

Yeah I mean a d3200 will be fine for that stuff but you'll be looking for a new body pretty quick if you intend on going anywhere with your work. It's a good beginner's dslr but you'll outgrow it once you pass that stage. D5300 is a great cam and if your brother already has good lenses that you can use, it would probably be worth it to cash out a little more.

d5300 will keep you going for a longer time
