gapersarefriendsI currently ride Ak JJ's so i'm looking for more of an everyday ski, and i've ended up looking at these two. Both would be in the 188 or the 191 size, just curious on your thoughts on either. Not too focused on the deep snow performance, more of the all mountain crud blasting performance, and before you recommend a skinnier ski i really really enjoy riding a wider ski. Cheers
cydwhitI've skied both, I'd say the K 108 is gonna be a little more crud-busty, while the Arv is a little softer overall. Both are super fun and pretty capable, but I'd give the nod to the Kartel if you're looking for the oh-so-slightly "chargier" ski.
Deepskierid vote arv little more versatile. IMO bamboo skis are weird. kartels might be little more chargy but I just don't feel like they would be as much fun in the majority of situations as the arv. I think it would fit your bill just as well without sacrificing in other areas.
.lenconhow are bamboo skis weird? also, kartels are fun as hell, and super versatile. I think if you gave people only one ski from park to big mountain and gave them a K108 they would be stoked.
DeepskierI definitely agree. Not saying op would not be happy with them, I personally lean to arvs because i love armada shit and i think bamboo skis are snappy in a weird way but i haven't spent enough time on them to really make up my mind. Maybe if kutcher would hurry up and sell me his fucking kartels already....
.lenconLol.
Ive met a few people who don't like bamboo, but I can't actually tell if it's the bamboo they don't like or the ski overall. Really, bamboo gives you a ton of advantages, and imo is probably one of the better cores out there.
DeepskierTrue, if I spent more time on bamboo I might like them, or if it was something other than a Magnus... I would believe very easily that my dislike spans more from them being Magnus. As I ski very differently than anyone I've ever seen on that ski. I hate that slippery bunchy shit (most of the time).
.lenconGet on a kartel, mount them back a bit, or a billy goat. you'll see...
