Alex bellemare deserves more recognition, kid is absolutly insane and consistence!

Rail game is so insane and tech, is the industry giving the recognition skiers deserved?

Well I've read in an interview a while ago that the national team wouldn't be really stoked if he hurt hinself hitting urban, and well he's super busy with comps, and that's what he's paid to do.
A couple of streets shots from him could happen, but a street part? Hmmm I don't think so, and that's what I'd want to see.

hm yeah makes sense. the whole "national team" thing is sorta lame to me and antithetical to what i love about the sport but i totally feel him (and them, the team/organizers) on that and don't blame them at all for doing it, and not wanting to risk it on street parts

but yes, id love to see it

Bellemare is an absolute beast, yes. What does "recognition" entail exactly? Everyone here is already going ape about his skiing.

He definitely deserves a ski sponsorship from an actual ski company. Yes i know his current skis are made by Jason Levinthal so they are legit but it seems kind of weird that no one is trying to sell his skis. All in all sponsoring an athlete is usually a marketing strategy to help boost sales and spread the word about a certain company, Bite size could become alot more known if the skis that Bellemare rides were actually available to buy because im sure he influences alot of people.

yes he does deserves way more recognition.

Pretty crazy how underrated he is. And after seeing those slvsh games IMO it's insane that armada dropped him. Like yeah, I get it, condense your team but fuck Bellemare is a heavy hitter. So much style and tech. Crazy that guys like Bellemare and Jonah Williams can't land a decent ski sponsor.

They're J skis whipits with bite size custom graphics. Not sure whether or not they're for sale anywhere though.

Worked with him @ Windells this summer, he is not on Atomic. Nicky Keefer gave him a pair of his own skis because he didn't have any skis going into WCS10. He also made a thread about the ski industry/struggling with sponsors.

But yeah he ain't on Atomic.

And yes I do wish to hit the streets once contests are not an option anymore.
It's alot of work filming urban and let's be honest it's not gonna pay a mortgage for you or anything, so I'm tryna rake in money with contests while I can.
And slope comps are pretty fun tbh.

And by the way that whole interview was just a big joke, a post SLVSH cup Tbar ride. Pretty sure the only reason that part was kept is because of that little kid practically crashing into us.
I am trying to go to Korea and will do mostly everything i can to go but it sounded a little weird in that interview.
So yeah

incredibly underrated. The yr he got 3rd in x games slope, 4 on pretz 4 off was insane + the one in recent slvsh. Was very surprised armada dropped alex, sucks.

I blew my knee at the end of 2013 thus missing all the qualifying events for Sochi.
Kind of why I'm trying to make it in 2018.

he is a top tier athlete trying to push himself to be the best he can, to risk hurting yourself on a dickey handrail that lets say only 100000 people might see vs competing in an event a million plus are going to see is not that wack at all. If you ever reach this level in your skiing career you would probably do the same.

He has the best disaster game no question, no one even comes close.

He probably doesn't get as much props because his strong suit is rail skiing. Compared to ABM, Evan McEachran and these other young up and comers who are doing triples, he's not going to get the same attention.

TLDR: do future spins. Get paid

So next time ur on newschoolers and you think someone dissed your high school sweet heart read it again cause clearly the American school system failed to teach you basic comprehensive reading skills

I can't believe this guy is going to start another season without a (money) contract with an established ski company... agree , bellemare is insane in rails but he absolutly kill it in the air!

skier everyday struggle, bummer he left armada and havent got any decent ski sponsor
