Senior Project

For my senior project (I get to skip the last quarter of school to do something constructive) I wanted to do something to do with skiing but have no idea what to do for it. Any ideas?

I go to the same school as fks heelpiece and its not necessarily for a class. Its just a general senior project. Some schools do it differently.

What exactly is it? My senior project was pretty much on anything but needed an EQ, sub EQs and a bunch of research with an applied piece to show what you learned.

Senior Project is an actual class for me! I thought about doing the whole "showcase your home mountain" thing in an edit of sorts, but felt that it wouldn't have the flare that I was seeking in order to justify missing a ton of school. My solution? Remake an old early 80's Obermeyer short film shot for shot in Aspen.
Falls under the arts category, and let's me take on a huge project while playing on snow.

For me senior project is a class for a whole semester which is absolutely outrageous and to make it even more outrageous I got the ok to make a ski video chronicaling my adventures skiing this winter which will be super fun

Im building skis out of my garage I suggest you do the same. If that's to hard for you just design like 5 skis (dimensions and possibly graphics)

If you have an entire quarter off school to do something, try to get an internship with relevance. I am sure there are some out there for winter or spring at ski areas near you. Get an internship, bring about some new ideas or a project, run it by them, go from there, see if it works.

Beginning of last year I was in the same boat. Didn't know what I wanted to do other than something ski related, and after a couple of weeks I layed out my options and started looking at what was the best option. I had ideas of doing fundraiser related events that would give back to the ski community which included putting on a Slopestyle comp, a rail jam, and an avalanche awareness program. These were all good options, but I ended up doing a film ( https://vimeo.com/165976137 ) and even though it wasn't the easiest project it let a friend and I get away with participating in a pretty fun project, and we ended up hosting a little premiere for the community to enjoy in the end, and it got people stoked to go ski, so that was killer. So all in all do what you feel like you can do best without going in over your head, but stick with doing something you are passionate about.
