I know this is a hard charging, big-mountain ski, which means the mount point is further back from center than say free ride skis.
That being said, it only has one mount point and that's almost 9.5cm back from center! I bought these skis because they were super cheap like 179 dollars cheap and heard they hold up well at speed but damn it seems like they have so little tail.
I know they have metal in the core, so I don't want to be playing with the mount. I have been skiing on center mounted skis all my life, with the occasional 2.5/3cm back from center, which I found fine.
I'm not really sure how this would feel. I understand a mount this far back would help with tip dive but would it also help with being able to drive the tips?
I like to ski in the front seat, driving the front part of the skis so maybe a mount this far back would be a plus, it's just that I have never really skied something this far back. I could go up 1 or 2 cm but that's about it because I don't want to mess with where the original mount point is in relation to the metal in the core of the ski.
To sum it up, I'm asking how would a mount like this feel, particularly on this ski and what would it preferably be better for?
And I understand a ski of this size is made particularly for speed and big-mountain, so I understand that center mounting is not an option. Just didn't realize it was almost 9.5cm back from center.
