As expected, the new iPhone is debuting without a 3.5mm headphone jack. This is now phone #2 to do this (Moto Z), and arguably the most impactful phone to continue this daunting trend. There are rumors that Samsung is prepping for the same elimination on their redesigned line, possibly further confirmed as they cut headphone jacks from their TVs.
What are your thoughts? Are these companies trying to redesign the future and going all in on wireless? Are they monopolizing consumers into a shittier experience so they can save a buck and sidestep one of the more undependable components in electronics?
