Winter Goals

If your trying to progress setting goals is a great way to do so.


I manage a snowmobile rental company which is pretty demanding here in UT. My goal this winter is to get out more with my sledhead buddies and pretty much do this.

Also, I would love to tour/explore more, and learn some new saucy tricks on backcountry booters.

Make it through my last season of shitty Midwest skiing without getting injured.

I will be SO pissed if I blow an acl on a stupid park jump. I should probably avoid park altogether except for early/late season.

learn lip slide disasters and just perfect my lipslides in general.

By the end of this season i want to be able to just haul ass through a park and fly through rails.

also need to relearn 360s and learn to really tweak a safety grab out in front of me, like almost method.

also would love to get comfortable hitting jumps switch, maybe land a sw 5?

Learned these last year. They're so much fun and I love just shredding the groomers and doing these of side hits and rollers if I have a ton of speed

4 on isnt that bad, try it on a box and im sure your nerves will calm down alot after first hit

best thing i did last year was learn how to slide rails unatty, its so fun to learn how to slide rails again. I find it crazy how little attention is put towards learning unaty tricks, like after you learn how to do your first pretz 2, the next thing you should learn is unatty tricks.

Sadly i didnt do that, 3 years of parks skiing later im finally learning how to ride unatty on rails (instead of just going unnaty from front/back swaps)

learning unatty helps you out soooo much

Good to hear, Im not terrible on sliding on unnnatty, but you might think I'm autistic trying to get on rails starting unnatty. Thats my only issue, swapping to unnatty ain't bad. This is going to be my 3rd season and I'm probably gonna work on switch skiing and that right away

Just to get better overall in the park. I can hit most jumps 50ft and under with ease, but that's about as far as my park skill goes. I really want to learn how to backflip and flat 3

i didnt personally do this but i wish i did

but in the process of learning how to hit rails, every trick that you learn natty you should next learn them unatty. So let say one learns how to slide a box, then try slide it the other, progression would come so much quicker.

But i was in the same boat as you, i could slide unatty fine on swaps but not riding on. Once you learn tho, so many new doors are open, for example its so much easier to go unatty on, then front swap to your natty side than huch a 4 or 6 out, also looks dope

I thought about throwing one at a couple of points this summer. Kind of glad I didn't but always wanted redemption on it.

At a point where I have so many fucking head injuries that I'm scared just to hit the park sometimes. That said felt I threw down a bit this summer and through I had to mid concussions from random accidental shit, made it out in pretty good shape.

I've always seen switch cork 5s and thought, wow, that looks fun. Hopefully there's plenty of snow for street skiing, my goal is to keep that first-snow motivation for urban up throughout the winter.

Really stoked for this season. I wanna learn:

360s with grabs
Bring front/backflip and Lincoln's to snow
270s on/off
Front/back swaps
Switch 180s maybe 360s if I sack up

Building a backyard park with the homies and I'm hoping to see my rail game progress quickly. Definitely gonna be grinding out some rail practice during my open hours.

Don't let people know what your goals. Then they have super high expectations for you and when you do the trick they are barely even impressed whereas if they have super low expectations and then you whip your first backflip or rodeo or whatever it will seem fucked
