Large upgrade to Media system launched

Hey guys -

Just to let you know we're in the process of pushing out a massive update to the media back-end. This mainly is related to photos and videos, but it touches a few other parts of the site.

You won't notice a ton of difference, though the upload feature is completely changed. MyMedia has been retired, and the ability to edit/manage your playlists is not yet finished.

We had to make a hard switch on this, and there could be issues. Please report them here if you see anything wrong.

The gallery update beta will be coming soon, as will the ability to better manage media and playlists. Stay tuned for that.

*hopefully* you don't notice much right now but wanted to have one pace to report if you do.

ah, so if you view the latest it shows the actual pictures, however when you sort by rating it shows the thumbnails of the videos being uploaded. I think that's what's going on

I also noticed with the videos that uploaded multiple times, that the number of times they show up is equal to the amount of tags they have. Like the harambe video tagged jumps, crash, edits, instabangers and pow (on the page 5x), Sunshine village edit tagged Big Mtn, North America and Pow and is on the page 3x and so on. Okay, I'm done now. Looks like it's gonna be sick once it's all set!

top rated doesnt seem to be working either, it seems to just be the latest vids/photos uploaded no matter if you select day,week, month or all time

I'm pretty stoked to see the end result. From what I can tell it's looking sick. I'm a fan of all the new types of tags/categories. Especially by location. In the winter that's gonna be sick for all the big park resorts!

Jacques, just trust us, we know what needs to be there and we have not released all of the updates yet. When we update the video section and replace these missing parts, you will know.

Please note - this is not finished so expect bugs and little wonky things here and there.

Give it a shot. Especially, take a look at the mobile interface.

Missing loads of stuff still, but we're pretty happy about it.

If I choose the "latest" tab and scroll down a ways and after I view something and then hit the back button, I always end up scrolled down on the "hot" tab.
Used to be the back button on my browser always took me back to the same tab and where I left off.
It's kind of a drag when your pages down and have to go back up to click the tab I was on prior.
Hope that makes sense.
