Worst Skis You've Owned...

What is one ski you'd never like to ski on again? My least favorite was the 2011 Line Step-Up.

I only owned them for a very short period in between skis, but I recall Surface Double Times skiing with zero energy at all. Stiff as a wooden plank. Even though I never skied any of them, the older K2 park skis such as the Recoil looked extremely average as well

surface greenlifes: got them on the low, skied them twice. the edges kept getting hooked on the sidewalls, bases were slow after a half day, and they were just way to stiff for me.
got a pair of on3ps, best ski i've ever had

Probably 2012 Line Masterminds, I just completely destroyed the sidewalls and top sheets and then proceeded to snap one in half while landing backseat on a 540

Line prophet 90s. Stole them from my dad after getting rid of my ar7s because he claimed that they were a fun ski to rip around on... He was wrong. I know that they are designed for all mtn use and not park but when the skis are that stiff an that directional they should be considered twin tipped race skis.

I was looking at the Filthy Riches for a symmetrical park ski that is longer than 184 (most park skis are too short for me) - but no more, thanks!

Thanks, yeah, I had read it too fast. If the FR's are ok, might have to give my buddy on the team a ring and check 'em out. At 6' tall, I just hate short park skis and non symmetrical park skis at that.

I hear ya. I had a pair of Line Motherships for a while too. Heavy and plank like. I think J put metal swords in the core. They were like steering a pirate ship down a powder field.

Where u live? I grew up Maine and still had several of those days a year and then moved to Tahoe (when it used to snow a ton there).

damn you had them in maine? sick

im from the east coast, ski mostly nh and vt until i went to tahoe for two winters, but it was two low tide winters for them :/ . needless to say i still had an insane amount of fun but the deep pow days werent plentiful. im more of a charger ski guy anyway though, id only get something like an ARG if i lived in the mtns again and had 3 other pairs of skis haha

I hear you. I actually bought them for the 07-08 winter season when I moved to Squaw. I now have too many skis and am consolidating. But...never getting rid of my Spatulas, Pontoons and Chopsticks.

nice dude. yeah i missed 2011 at squaw by a year :| oops

i havent tried spatulas or pontoons but i tried a friend's chopsticks on a typical east coast day, they were fine but not really my style. here's to hoping i ""need"" some real fatties some time in my future

Dude your dad is right. Might not have been the right ski for your use but the old Prophet 90 is a really fun ski to rip around on. Lots of people like 'em. I've mine for years and I still hear positive comments almost every time I wear them. I even got complements from Eric Pollard himself on 2 different occasions. I'm glad they are not my only ski but I'll be stoked to ride them the next time I take them out.

Surface No Time. I think they were 76 under foot and they were stiff as hell. Felt like a mogul ski.

surprised no one has said line afterbangs. They were pretty fun to ride, I actually had no complaints about my 166's

The 177s, those are a different story. One nose edge blew out within a few weeks, and by the end of the year they started to warp/delam and the edges are pretty much permanently railed no matter what I do. To much stress on the layers I guess from the longer length.

You mean the Nick Greener Pros? In pea-soup green? I loved that ski! It was a beast!

I didn't own that many skis I've hated. But the ones I strongly disliked were:
190 4frnt VCT - Dead submarines.
192 Elan 999 - Noodles.
189 K2 Kung Fujas - Noodles.
Ninthward THA187 - Dead. Just lifeless. Terrible mounting position.
