eheathdefine 'fat'
like im overweight, but i dont need two seats on a plane, im decently active and eat decently healthy as well (and not large amounts) i dont bother anyone with my overweight body, so whats wrong with me?
Obese is much different than fat IMO
McNocheYou must have a different definition of 'decently' than most. You shouldn't be fat by the life style you just described.
eheathI mean i ski all winter (60-70 days in the past few years), i bike around town, i play golf (walk the course) multiple times a week. Im not hiking up mountains and biking 30 miles like a real active person, but i dont sit on my ass all day (even tho you might think i do haha)
The.FishI feel bad for the little kids with 350lb parents who give them extra large sodas at McDonalds. Its almost like they are a lost cause. I would even call that bad parenting.

firecrotchObese or just fat? I don't really care either way, doesn't affect me
McNocheBeing fat=bad person
Being fat=lazy
Being fat=strain on the economy
Yes, I am anti fat person
HarambeThey should just have pig pens on airplanes. Just like a pen filled with hay for all the fatties who are too big to fit into the plane seat. It would be great because you could throw bits of crackers and cheese and watch them fight for it.

McNocheBro your more active than most
supermagician__can you stop being new for like five minutes? It's heath, he's always been that hefty guy who could move like no one else his size on skis.
as weird as that sounds, that is a compliment.
and also, noche, other people being fat is NOT something you should worry about. People these days (you specifically in this reference) need to get their own insecurities in check before they go and talk shit upon a vastly large group of people. Fat people aren't a mass strain on the economy either, obese people on the other hand....
McNocheLooks like we found another fat NS'er
supermagician__i'm like 6'2 and 170

californiagrownIf someone chose to have plaque sciriosis on their body, and then bought a plane ticket a rubbed up against you, you wouldnt be at all aggravated? Because to me, when an overweight, out of shape slob does the same thing, i find it incredibly gross...
Being legit fat/obese is a choice. They are choosing to be unhealthy and to elicit a naturally negative response from other people. Dont make me go out of my way to accomodate your voluntary choice- eg have you spill over into my airplane seat, get soda banned because of "the obesity epidemic" AKA zero fucking self control, chronically using government healthcare to treat your obesity induced heart disease, diabetes, joint pain etc.
the issue is too many damn people think they are just a little overweight when in reality they are fucking obese. If there is any doubt that you are obese you need to immediatley start eating less and running more.

saskskierOne thing that I've come up against with work is how hard it is to access healthy food if you live in poverty. Lot's of people who live in poor communities do not live close to grocery stores so need to spend money they don't have on public transportation, child care, etc. When they do get to a grocery store, it's easier to spend that limited budget on quantity over quality (especially if you have a big family). How many boxes of KD can you get for the same price as a pound of ground beef or enough fruit and veggies to feed a family? How many bottles of soda can you get instead of a gallon or two of milk? There are ways to do it, but it's tough even IF you have a grocery store near by. Even harder if you don't.
That's just one situation. There are lots of people out there who have big issues they need to deal with and any semblance of nutrition just gets pushed further down the things they worry about.
These aren't excuses many people should be using, but they are legit and they suck.

I'm probably one of the select few who is actually wishing they had more body fat, I get cold easily.
SlushI'm 6'4" and 170 pounds.
eheathim overweight
Vk-47Someone should sig this
eheathWhy?
Vk-47this is a first time ive seen you claiming it
eheathThats because you joined in 2014.
californiagrownIBeing legit fat/obese is a choice. They are choosing to be unhealthy and to elicit a naturally negative response from other people.
californiagrownIt does though- everything from the standard fit of clothes, to you having to pay more taxes to support their plethora of health issues.
I think there should be a fat here in America. If you have a BMI over a certain amount you owe additional taxes. However, you get a full rebate with a doctor's note, and by passing a basic physical fitness test.
Pretty much.
mirozThis is a massive overgeneralization. It's like arguing that addictive drug use (after becoming hooked) is a choice, even though the more successful treatments acknowledge it as a disease. And what's worse, many obese people have those habits built into them by their upbringing.
Not sympathizing, just arguing semantics. I too think that if you can't fit into one seat, you should either buy two or not fly.
