What north face ski pants are these?

I'm guessing they're the north face freedom pants in like xl or xxl. I've got a pair, pretty comfy and warm but they're like not baggy enough for me anymore :( probs just gonna buy another bigger pair this winter.

North face is great, and does give a lot back to the ski community. I agree with you. Its a pretty awesome brand all around. I think the opportunities they've opened up for TW especially have been awesome, mainly their support of Good Company.

And I'm not saying that TNF doesn't put more money into skiing. They certainly do, but they also have way way way more money. And that's why they are here in the first place, because they believe there is more money to be made.

Moving on to your question about why to support smaller brands. My biggest reasoning that draws a comparison here is because as the core market it's our responsibility to do so. TNF isn't going to go out of business because OP buys yoke pants, but yoke might go out of business if OP buys TNF pants. Perhaps you'd suggest that its yoke's fault for not making a better product or doing better marketing. This is just an example so I don't care to get into a quality debate, but the point is that if we, as the core market, don't understand that we're the only ones who can keep these brands alive then they are destined to fail.

So I'm really sorry you feel that its a constant barrage, but thats just because you are tuned it and see it all. For each new person I share this concept with it is a learning experience for them, and perhaps other readers, who aren't participating, learn something too.

In the end, yes everyone will buy whatever they'd like to buy. My hope is that I give people more reason to support core brands and have those brands become what they'd like to buy.

Besides, as it is right now- TNF is just one step away from being Under Armour. I'd rather build up the small brands who have invested more than money into our sport. That way when TNF decides to pull out because of their bottom line then athletes like Tom and events like PnP could still be supported. Maybe we'd have War of Rails still if more people bought Saga.

I have to agree with S.J.W on this one, and also add something new to the table. I've bought many things from the small brands mentioned above as well as TNF. I find it's way harder for me to buy stuff online from the smaller companies mentioned above who are based in the states because of the Canadian exchange rate, shipping, hidden cost, duty, etc... I end up paying like 2 to three times what it's supposed to be. I also live in a super small town (about 5000 people) where supporting local businesses is crucial to the survival of my small town. Almost all of these local business's only can sell "non core" brands such as TNF. So yeah it is true that it's nice to support small brands, but sometimes it's nice to shop at and support local businesses. Whose owners I see on a daily basis.

The answer is simple in this debate. The consumer buys the better product for the consumer. I do buy saga but thats because its the best product imo. But if it wasn't I shouldn't have to feel any obligation to buy it just because its a small brand owned and operated by people like you and I. We live in an open market where the best product at the lowest cost is generally the winner, TNF might provide that and is probably why they are where they are. You brought up the point that they wont go out of business by losing OP sale, but if everyone had that mentality then they sure as hell would go out of business, because everyone would buy small thinking other are going to buy big, bystander effect. But yeah, just buy what you like whether its small company like saga or big business like TNF, all personal preference.

Sorry dude but I don't have a link to the ones I got for 25 cause I didn't buy them online lol. And when I meant "weird plastic fabric" i was talking about the super cheap pants that tnf makes nowadays... So yeh. You're probs right about them being the seymore ones tho.
