dan4060Jumping off a cliff called Smooth Air at Squaw. It was early January, and I had not hit anything over 15 feet yet, so I definitely bit off more than I could chew. Smooth Air is around 35-40 feet according to Squallywood, which is big for me. I had never hit anything over 25 feet, so a cliff that size would be a stretch even if I had hit it later in the year when I would have been more prepared by hitting bigger cliffs. The lesson is to work up gradually. The moment I went off it I knew it was too big for me, I ended up cartwheeling. My ski got stuck under the pow in a backwards twisting fall and I felt the pop and heard the pop. I had lived in Tahoe for 6 years at that point. I decided it was time for grad school and weekend warrior status.
Profahoben_212Smooth air can get fucking huge. Props man
I_liketobutterCased a poppy, poorly built step down. Was ready for it, guess my legs weren't strong enough.

SkibumsmithWhy do you say that?
loganimlachi stopped skiing park haha
dan4060Much appreciated.
Truth be told, I was always pretty conservative when I lived up there. I just got some confidence and went for it. I followed someone who was much better than me, which can sometimes be a good thing although obviously not in this case. His name is Myles, and he is one of the guys from UnofficialSquaw. I believe he is still up there ripping, he has posted videos of himself on TGR skiing McConkey's/Eagle's Nest which might be the most difficult line at Squaw.
