Bishop bring back votes

Ok i don't know if this is thread worthy but I see so many posts that say they want votes back, that ns isn't as fun with out them. I agree im getting bored on ns and I haven't even been on here very long. Even mingg wants em back and she gets nothing but down votes. So tell us bishop will they come back or should we wallow in a world of fair discussion.

maybe you should actually contribute to the site instead of dishing out the bullshit that half of you new members post.

NS went like 12 years without upvotes and in the 4 or so years that they had it it KILLED the discussion on the forums. Not that it was solely from the voting but that didn't help the forums dying off one bit.

Forums are made for one reason and that's discussion. This isn't reddit or tumblr or twitter is a fucking forum its made to discuss things not say stupid shit for upvotes. Dont like it? Leave

Sorry im not core enough for you homie, but when Ive read most of the recent threads on here and when there are 5day old posts on the first page, I get bored. Ns is dying because kids get their shit of Instagram and snap chat and ns is boring to them. So they just see no reason to come on. We have 43 fucking members on right now like what the fuck im fine with no votes as long as shit is moving but its not so bring back fucking votes.

Believe it or not, we didn't have any of the stupid stuff like karma, downvotes, or Facebook Messenger before you joined. We just told newbz to STFU and use the searchbar and it was FINE.

Downvotes/upvotes are the worst. You'd have people downvoting whatever you said just because a certain member posted it. Yes I was both a victim and a perpetrator of said action. This is very true. Upvotes and downvotes thrive on mob mentality- just look at the comments section on Pinkbike articles. People upvote or downvote primarily based on how well or poorly a comment is perceived to be doing. Rarely is it done based on the actual content of the comment. Once enough people jump on a comment, the masses seem to swarm to it. And that happened here on NS as well.

In a perfect world, these votes would give you a quick idea as to which posts are the best and which are the worst but that's rarely how it worked. It was, more often than not, a passive/aggressive way to attack someone. And it made it so you didn't have to comment- you just neg someone and be done with it.

If you actually want to "Make NS Great Again", fucking contribute. If you like something, discuss it. If you hate something, discuss that too. God forbid we have to use actual communication skills to make a point.

I will say that even the upvote kinda caused a shitload of people whose sole purpose was to post "Get Full Tilts, Insert other NS related joke" first on every post just to get upvotes.

it was annoying and detracted from actually conversation.

I see that, Its purely just the amount im on ns i just get bored but have nothing to do. If there were a lot of new posts and stuff to read i wouldn't care much. It just feels like Ive seen all these posts. Its not a huge deal ill go with bishops call but id still vote bring them back.
