HarambeExactly when you're talking to a person in real life and you can directly see how they're reacting to what you're saying makes it a lot easier to be enthusiastic. When you're staring into a camera getting no feedback it makes it a lot more difficult to be excited.
Line skis have got the product videos sussed.
Yeah you really can't appreciate how hard it is until you try it at a professional scale. One where you really know people are going to be watching it and criticizing.
Enthusiasm when you're filming has to be like 150%. Too much more and you come off goofy too much less and you seem boring as shit.
As well remembering the lines you're supposed to say and keeping them succinct enough to come off on camera In a usable format is really difficult.
Its why why most of the time when you see athletes interviewed there's an experienced host to guide them.
Getting the the enthusiasm right doing stuff like dew tour, on the road or the sessions at SIA was extremely difficult for me. I'm not even that good at it, the pros are well trained and well practiced.
So yeah - reviews from an athlete most of the time are going to come off pretty deadpan 90% of the time unless you cut it with action and slice in a hype man like line did with Hartman.
Edit: Andy Parry is also extremely experienced on camera and really naturally talented at it.
