Ok so can anyone recommend me a boot? Here's what I need.. I have a wide foot with quite a high arch, I need a boot that has a 102-104mm last that can work with alpine bindings (dukes), a stiff 120-130 flex and that has a walk function.. Is there such a boot or am I out of luck? Any suggestions would be great! Thanks (I've already tried Cochise 120 and quest 120's and neither of then were comfy at all)
Assuming that is your foot shape, one boot you should look at or consider is the Atomic Waymaker Carbon 120 or 130. Wider, higher volume last with a narrow heel, 120 or 130 flex, walk mode that offers 35° of cuff mobility, and swappable norm soles (alpine DIN, touring DIN + TLT, or WTR + TLT). Definitely visit a boot-fitter who stocks them and have them assess if they are right for your foot or not.
Listen to every thread about boot shopping out there; go to a boot fitter with an open mind! I don't know how many bad fits I've done because I thought when I read someone's interpretation of the fit of a boot as universal. I've wasted SOOO much money because of bad choices because I thought I knew what I was doing. 1st step clear out a whole day 2nd step go to a boot fitter with YOUR socks and a customary 6 to 12 pack of delicious suds for boot God sacrifice. 3rd step don't drink the beer till after boot fitting is done...trust me drunk you is not smart you. 4th step only answer the questions given and don't try to give your thoughts on choices, let the person who is trained and paid to make those decisions choose the boot. 5th after successful conclusions then drink said suds and enjoy an epic season.
