chicknfriedsteakLike They said, Brundage is pretty great, tons of pow and usually not that many people, yes their park sucks balls, but just a mile up the road from Brundage is Little Ski Hill and they have a cool little backwoods kind of park that they put a lot of effort into and is pretty fun.

treebeardBogus Basin's park consistently makes epic promises then completely fails to deliver. Avoid it if you can, especially on weekends. I'll be riding Brundage as much as possible, and highly recommend it for pow days and overall fun times. A good park unfortunately does not exist in southwest Idaho, except for Dollar at Sun Valley

RousedWitsIf you go over to Brundage Mt. in McCall Idaho, they have pretty consistent snow, and decent terrain for the ticket price. last year they did a sweet season pass deal for university students. only like $300 for a season! Every time I have hiked out passed the radio towers, I have had untracked knee deep, light powder. Also there is some pretty technical chutes and trees in the side country they call "hidden valley". As far as park goes, the mountain occasionally will set up some little jumps, a few boxes and rails, but nothing too large, and it always seemed a little temporary.

DeepskierBogus kinda sucks. Its a fucking hour drive to park way far away, the lodge is run down as shit and the mountain is flat. Bogus can be fun once in a while just because there are some sick stumps and trees to launch off of, but mostly not worth the trip

treebeardyou just gotta approach it with the right attitude. if you go there expecting to be blown away by their park, terrain, and snow quality you're gonna leave disappointed. but if you go there expecting to fuck around, have some beers, and slalom through gapers it's actually pretty damn fun. it's all about your attitude

Just want to really hammer this home: it's all about your attitude. I used to be one of the Bogus haters, like really hard. Then a friend helped me see I was taking it too seriously. Ever since then I've had very few sub-par days at Bogus

StokeFactorYea but I'm planning on moving around a bit and ski an extra few weeks after the semester, but I still go back to Quebec around the end of December. Is there usually a decent amount of snow in late november/ december?



Because I like roadtrips and hiking mountains and the American West is awesome for that? I didn't choose Boise for the city but for it's central location. I have an insane amount of choices for outdoor weekend trips here.

treebeardglad that's your mindset. make sure to check out the hot springs. idaho is an absolute geological marvel and the hot springs are not to be missed. and fall is the best season for them. some are super easy to get to, others require a multi-day trek through some pretty remote areas. idahohotsprings.com will show you everything you need to know, and i consider myself to be a good info source so hit me up if you're wanting to get out there

barring an uncharacteristically early winter, there's not much opportunity to ski in southern idaho before december, and then not even till the end of december usually. after the semester ends i'd recommend chasing storms to utah, oregon, or washington
