Surface blanks, what's up with them?

I'm going to keep this short, but I was looking into buying a new pair of skis on a limited budget, and the Surface blanks caught my eye as they are priced under 300$(!). Has anyone here had any experience with them? Are they shitty skis? I was looking into buying the all-mountain variant for reference.

I plan on giving them a try this year. There was some talk in this older thread about them. There doesn't seem to be any major complaints, but there also doesn't seem to be a lot of people using them either.

I'm pretty stoked to give them a try, especially given the price. I don't really do a lot of park stuff and the snow conditions here on the east coast are icy on a good day so I look forward to seeing how they are.

I had a pair......they were a very slow ski and were so stiff.

I've heard they aren't bad, they have zero flex to them and apparently slow, kinda crappy bases. Good to ski them while they last if you like a really stiff flex

from what my friend says. somewhat crappy bases, and yes super stiff. so that can be both positive and negative. honestly tho. not bad for 300 bucks. but then again you can find post season and pre season deals all over for a good ski

After owning a pair of park skis with extruded bases all I can say is: never again.

Rather just save a bit extra and get something with sintered bases. They hold wax soooo much better and are a lot faster. For me paying a bit extra is well worth it, knuckling jumps is not fun.

exactly, you can find better park skis for a similar price

and yeah, they have extruded bases, which blow. ive never even understood why that's a thing someone would buy. the entire sport is about sliding on snow, and youre gonna buy a ski that doesnt slide well on snow for little to no savings in price? no thanks

Good ski, really stiff. However, a friend of mine snapped 2 pairs.. durability is not the best.

Wait till this seasons come out if you want a pair, they updated the bases and now they're sintered. Also they have a pretty clean graphic
