Help identify this pair of Lines

I just got these skis from the bargain basement at my local outdoor store for next to nothing. They are soft, noodely, and presumably buttery.

Most of the graphic is chipped off, so I'm having trouble identifying the model. Any insight on this NS?

they are afterbangs, either prototypes or a pair someone sanded down and painted.

Is sanding down top sheet graphics in order to use white paint and a stencil of the line logo common? or was it common?

They're the Line Anthems from 2009 my dude, like the other guy said it looks like the whole top sheet got sanded off and stencilled, or they were prototypes...

It looks like you are correct. I bet they are prototypes. It makes me wonder who the former owner(s) was.

I'm guessing they are afterbang prototypes, with an anthem base to keep them a secret during testing before they were revealed. Definitely a neat find.

Yeah after looking at the anthem specs on evo, there's no way they are those skis. The anthems have camber while the skis i have have zero camber. That being said, it can't be the afterbang or the anthem because both of those skis have camber. Was there a zero camber line?

it may just be because the skis are 7ish years old. I know afterbangs usually lose their camber, not sure about anthems tho. whats the dimensions? Anthems are 93mm while afterbangs are only 88

Either way, whatever they are. Old anthems, prototype anthems or even prototype after bangs with an anthem base. This is a pretty cool find. You have my respect.

weird that line would use some shitty marker M-series demo binders when they normally were using jester or griffons demos at that point. OP, are the skis the skateboard layer construction like afterbangs or are they the typical sidewall/cap construction. It is perfectly normal for skis to go to 0 camber after many days of thrashing. I had some old ARVs what went from full camber, to flat camber, the having tip rocker.

I think it is the typical sidewall/cap construction. I don't know for sure so here is a picture of the side of the tip. Additionally, I messaged both Andy parry and Rob Heule and they said "test skis or step ups" and "after bangs or step ups" respectively.

Wow .. those are very early proto Afterbangs, probably circa 2007. They probably have zero camber and are super noodles. We were going back and fourth with different veneer layups and fiberglass packages to get the right flex but also to make sure they didn't instantly de-camber.

No idea how they got into the market as .. consider them one of a kind and please beat the shit out of them and yes you will be butter master on those, crazy find... well done. -jm

God, I would love to have these as beater rail skis. Wouldn't pay more than $20 though.

2009 line afterbang. They notoriously had de-laminating top sheets. Hence why you have none.
