Best boots for freestyle?

Hello,

I was wondering if anybody would be able to help me find the best park boots for me this season. I will be skiing the 2015 Icelantic Da'Nollies (170 cm) and I weigh 140 lbs. My shoe size is 11.5 and i believe my mondo is 29.5. My foot is a little wide, so if there is a 29.5 wide mondo that would be great! I would like to have a medium to stiff flex boot to be able to flex the ski easier to get more pop switch and for nollies (I have no idea if that makes sense). I have no budget, so any price is fine.

I forgot to add that I tried on a pair of Full Tilt Descendant 4s in mondo size 29.5. The fit was great but it had too much flex for me. Thanks!

Go to a bootfitter. There is no way we are going to be able to tell you what boot will fit good over the internet since every boot will fit everybody differently. Go into a good boot fitter and have an open mind. Dont just tell him to fit you for the first "park" boot you see. Let them assess your foot and let them know the style of skiing you are doing.

If you dont have access to a boot fitter then i would suggest picking up a higher flex tongue for the decendant that you own. Or pick up the Descendant 8 if you need a new shell. (I think they are the same mold??)

guaranteed you are smaller than a 29 shell size. I wear a 12/13 shoe depending on brand and ski a 27 shell boot. I do have a intutition liner and a great set of footbeds to keep me aligned tho. Start with a 27 shell and go from there. Remember if a boot feels great outta the box or like your shoes you came in wearing, its too big. Youre going to gain a lot of space once it starts to pack out, better to start small and stretch the boot or liner.

Normally when I wear ski boots, I always go a half size down so I wear a 10 in shoe size, but for boots, I'll wear a 9 1/2 (27.5). It's good to feel snug in boots and I've always been told this constantly by fitters. It's possible to fit boots yourself but for your first time, I would go to a boot fitter because you're not 100% sure on what you want. What I know about the full tilts is they almost all fit the same. And what's great is if they feel too stiff or too loose, you can always switch out the tongues. They're designed completely different than your ordinary boot. It really depends though like said before what kind of skiier you are. I charge a lot so tilts are perfect for me but you may be more laid back and casual. Park boots are not always the answer.

I know. I didn't mean a boot advertised as a "freestyle boot" just a boot that would work well in the freestyle application.

I put these Boots on before I leave for work, and take them off (sometimes begrudgingly) when I get home. These are definitely a comfortable boot, and I have worn combat boots for the last 14 years. The Army (unfortunately) would never pull their heads out of their fourth points of contact long enough to authorize these boots for use in garrison. So as a soldier, I was constantly buying different boots that were authorized for use in an attempt to find that perfect balance of comfort and functionality.

Now that I am out of the Army, I can broaden my scope. And I tell you, these boots are great! If they weren't my work boots, I would wear them all the time. I will be buying a second pair in the future for my personal use

Just buy fulltilts online and if they don't fit shave the insides with a file or add some plywood in the insides to get them more snug. Freestyle boots should only be fulltilts and/or Dalbellos. Anything else and you'll most likely be sent to the hospital or worse, dead.

My dalbellos didn't fit quite right (after being fitted) so I shoved plastic grocery bags in the toes. Also fixes their crap waterproofing job, which was an unexpected bonus.
