Anyone else pumped for this? I'm so excited got goose bumps watching the trailer. The TGR crew probably the most anticipated film every year for me so can't wait to the premier.
I feel like the TGR crew has the most stocked film crew in the industry for years now. Def some other solid movies coming out but in my opinion nothing touches TGR unless your super into the park/urban scene than perhaps msp or one of the smaller film companies
Always stoked for TGR. I love seeing them at Squaw and can't wait to see the footage. I did my ski bum years at Squaw and I wish it was still featured in ski movies the way it used to be.
If you take away the fancy camera work, the actual skiing technique, tricks and terrain hasn't changed in say, 10 years.. right (and that's being tight.. could be longer)?? I mean, once you've seen Under The Influence (2008) not a lot has fundamentally changed...??

Consider this a downvote. Thank you for being so consistently stupid and contributing nothing even approaching logic or insight in your posts over the last several years.
You're right...TGR movies would be way better with bad mashups, or techno over gopro footy of sage on elf shoe skis "carving" around on groomers with his heart open and his hands dragging the corduroy. THAT'S progression!!!

Note sure how to respond, you're judging heartcarving through a narrow lens. I can easily ski double blacks. My R&D has so far centered on mainly blue runs.
I crushed that fella in 2008 in Whistler. He was a ski-patrol from Hotham. And that was on SL skis with no poles. The biggest problem I have is that my level of stoke is so high, I have trouble relating to strugglers like yourself. You have the most to gain, but you think you have the most to lose. That TGR film is just repackaged garbage.. garbage in the sense that there is nothing new to see, but they are selling you a "new" film.

Gotta love those ski-patrollers!!
Hey again!
Woah, you ski double blacks? I take it all back.
So let me get this straight. You out-skied a middle-aged, or older, ski patroller from a rink a dink resort that gets no snow and is pretty much all groomers, and you're claiming that as some kind of validation of your own ability?
Many patrollers are just average, competent skiers as the job mostly doesn't really require you to be a ripper, of course that's all relative and dependent on where you work and whether you're a fulltime paid guy, or a volunteer etc. Point being, while many patrollers are rippers, many are not as the job entails a lot more than just skiing well.
Also, I am a patroller, and I make a living doing avalanche control work and.....ahem......skiing "double blacks". I've got three guys I work with on the wrong side of 60 that would absolutely cook you on any piece of terrain you choose. And I know this because I watch your highly entertaining videos of you skiing.
Skiing is my favorite thing on earth, I do it every chance I possibly can, and I love every minute I'm lucky enough to hike, skin, snowmobile, ski, and huck in the mountains. The struggle isn't here, I'm good.
As for the, "repackaged garbage", I don't know what to tell you. I don't need the wheel to be reinvented every year to enjoy ski flicks. Sure, sometimes they can be stale (for any number of reasons, many beyond the control of the filmers and athletes), but I usually enjoy something about every one I go to a premier for or buy. I can't get enough ski porn. I want the industry to thrive, so I support projects like TGR's because even if the latest offering isn't the next IDEA, or Teddybear Crisis. It's very cynical of you to claim there's nothing new to see. Every year we see new faces, new locations, new NBD's, etc. That's enough for me.
But, by all means, don't watch this flick, or any others chock full of "repackaged garbage", but don't expect myself or anyone else for that matter to treat your opinion that "nothing has changed in 20 years or more" as even sort of credible. You already said yourself that you haven't watched anything in 3 years, so as politely as possible I suggest you have no fucking clue what you're on about.
SORRY, you said 10 years, not 20, my apologies. I don't need to misrepresent what you actually said to make my point. Claiming that skiing hasn't changed in ten years or more is dumb enough.

lol. The frontflip in that trailer was soooo sick. I want to see you do half the stuff they do in TGR movies. Yeah, some movies aren't great, but even the shitty ones are better than your edits.

Wow....you out skied a 60 year old patroller on a wide open black? Fucking crazy man you must be the best skier in the world! Move over Hoji. SmH

My beef is with slough. And that comes from Slarving. And yes some slough is unavoidable, but when you slarve, and that is the technique of the day, due to the speeds these top skiers are reaching, you aren't carving anymore, you are using the snow as brake: just like an intermediate skier on a blue-run. So to me, slarving is not an advanced technique, and you can thank the shape of the skis for that.
And in my view, skiing has regressed in some way with these fat, obese skis, and TH and many others are behind them. Slough wasn't nearly as much as a problem when skis were much narrower.
Then again the skiing was slower and more energy intensive. Am I wrong here?
So if someone told me, "we're gonna heli you up to the top of this peak, it's gonna be unbelievably cold, unbelievably steep, with many cliffs, but you know what your main concern should be: the slough you create trying to get down" ..then I'd think that's pretty insane, and any way to reduce that would be my main concern at the end of each day.
BTW, given I designed (and design) my own skis, and am self-inspired, I don't have much reverence for any athlete in this industry (including McConkey,) although I do appreciate skill and talent when I see it (and people that service the industry).. but I'm not autograph chasing ANYONE. And so if someone ever came up to me and asked for an autograph, I'd have real trouble relating.

An autograph? give me a break, dude. I've never asked for an autograph in my life, and respect, admiration, and appreciation aren't the same thing as worship or whatever you're implying.
Luckily, no one is going to hound you for an autograph, and if they do, it'll be for a laugh. Trust me. Your ego and detachment from reality is boundless.

I think you meant to quote that kook who was claiming gnar points off of outskiing some older gentleman who assuredly had no idea he was "competing". Shit's hilarious.

If I had a fraction of the resources of TGR I'd do something orders of magnitude more meaningful (important??)... or at least it'd be controversial. TGR produce nothing controversial.

Profahoben_212Yup meant to quote hearcarve. Gotta love kooks
Nahh, I outskied everyone I met on that trip. I met Nick McNutt briefly after he took a cliff at the bottom of Air Jordan switch and then went into the ski school entrance, but I never skied with him.
All ambitious young skiers who weren't in the park judged themselves pretty much by the cliffs they could take, but most had no foundation to their skiing. If you love skiing, you should be able to ski blue groomers and learn, and still enjoy yourself. Being solely focused on cliffs and airtime in my view is immature.
Of course skiing with friends is great, but only if they are at your level and support you in your skiing, ie, can put rivalries aside and not be jealous. Even Sage C-A isn't doing the stunts he used to -- well that's what he said in a vid a few years ago. That's gonna make him think what skiing is really all about.
...some German fellas I met.
When you simply obliterate other skiers, it's just time to move on. It's makes both parties uncomfortable. Then again, I've always said, Heartcarving and alienation go hand-in-hand.
