I like guns and hate abortions but I'm not about to run out and vote republican. Although Bernie is one of the good ones nothing will change until more baby boomers move on. I'm not voting for Clinton, I'm voting against trump and the baby boomers Republican Party. Most the people I know voting trump had mean dads or picked on growing up.
Despite what some of you may think, I am not a Hillary supporter and frankly, in almost any other year, I would probably be more likely to vote GOP.
But, that being said, this year after Trump announced his potential nominees for the Supreme Court, it reaffirmed to me that I could not, under any circumstance, vote for him.
It is possible that this President, who may or may not serve 8 years, has the potential to fill at least 1, and possibly 2 others (Ginsburg and Kennedy are likely to die/retire). We all know that, assuming the GOP retains control of the House, and the Dems retain control the Senate, the Presidential nominee will likely be gridlocked for at least the first two years. That leaves one avenue to substantial reform; the Supreme Court.
The last 50 years the SC has been a conservative majority, and if it returns to a liberal majority, there are quite a few things that can finally get done. This includes campaign finance, immigration, equal pay, fire arms, gay marriage, and many other topics that have gone unnoticed during this Presidential campaign season.
People tend to forget that the SC contains a lot of power for they are the sole body that determines that constitutionality of actions that the government, businesses, and individuals can take.
If it were any other election year and you lived in a swing-state I would tell you to vote for whomever you like, be it a Republican, Democrat, Libertarian, Green Party, or hell, even Vermin Supreme. But this year I implore for you to consider the future and whether or not you want a liberal or conservative SC. SC justices can serve for life, until they retire, or resign, and because of this, they ultimately will have more of an impact than Hillary or Trump will in the long run.

This is definitely how I feel about this shit show as well. Hillary is not who I want to lead this country, but she is someone who would keep the ball rolling in generally the right direction. There is no reason to think that she won't be a continuation of Obama's policies, which aren't perfect but also won't set us back 50 years of social progress, equality, and human rights. Let's at least get her in the office now and start planning something better for 2020.

His pics for SCOTUS are abysmal with literally life-long negative consequences, he wants to limit the First Amendment, he is a blatant racist & misogynist who will only worsen racial & cultural tensions, he opposes same sex marriages, he wants to overturn Roe v Wade & defund Planned Parenthood, he seeks to set back voting rights, he denies that man-made climate change is real, and his blueprint to run the country is modeled exactly after his failing businesses. This is not a recipe for success by any reasonable account. In fact, I would argue that his plans for this country would wind back a lot progress we've made in the last 50-75 years and this is incredibly dangerous.

Also, I wanted to point out that the DNC appears to be unified on the television but from listening to various delegates this does not seem to be the case. First off, half of the people there were paid to clap and appear as if Hilary had an avid crowd of supporters. They also took all of the TPP signs away and there's footage of security guards stopping Bernie supporters from re-entering. Not only that but the whole convention you saw on the television was laughably edited so that all heckle and booing was censored and with it all objectors and protesters.

Clinton has also expressed predilection for the Trans-Pacific Partnership, of course she flipflopped on this position after realizing that the common person disagrees with the secret constitutes within the trade agreement itself. This is the reason why Obama was so eager to fast-track it and tirelessly pushed the vague narrative that the TPP will CREATE jobs here at home. Wasn't this also said to be one of Nafta's advantages? The TPP would merely promote off-shoring of American jobs.
Obama even pushed this same agenda on the Jimmy Fallon show. Do not think that Clinton, especially when you look at her voting records would nay this trade agreement.
The TransTrans-Pacific Partnership positions corporate power over governments, giving corporations more ascendancy to maximize profit. Hilary will be merely the write off for these corporations. In the TPP draft papers there are 29 chapters, only 5 deal with traditional trade issues. Most would set rules on non-trade matters that affect our daily lives: food safety, internet freedom, medicine costs, job off-shoring, financial regulation, and more.
Some examples, include domestic policies would be required to comply with its rules and these same corporations behind SOPA have pushed to insert its most pernicious provisions into the TPP, something Hilary and Bernie have supported. This will ruin net-neutrality, an example being violations as simple as the creation of a YouTube video with clips from other videos, even if for personal or educational purposes or mandatory fines be imposed for individuals' non-commercial copies of copyrighted material. So, downloading some music could be treated the same as large-scale, for-profit copyright violations. Policing user data be it corporate backs or government backed, if they did not like something they could simply shadow-ban or kick you off the internet. I forgot to mention that Trump does not support this trade agreement, although you never know with politicians, they all flipflop when they realize they don't have as much power as they think they do.
The scariest pages of the TPP would empower corporations to attack U.S. Policies in Foreign Tribunals and demand taxpayer compensation for our environmental and health.

-The TPP would provide big banks with a backdoor means of rolling back efforts to re-regulate Wall Street in the wake of the global economic crisis, hmmm.

-The TPP would empower financial firms to directly attack these government policies in foreign tribunals, and demand taxpayer compensation for policies they claim undermine their expected future profits.

He is not racist and most people take his words out of context. As I've said numerous times in numerous threads, I don't think Hillary is the best candidate for POTUS. She is a goon and I don't like her. She looks like Star Wars villain. But she isn't about to lead civilization off a cliff. And when I said "keep the ball rolling in the general direction" was more of a nod to the improvements that Obama has made over Bush to keep us away from said cliff. Again, not perfect, but headed in the right direction which I can say and also not be in favor of the TPP. I fully agree with you on that last point.
But you couldn't be more wrong about his stance with the LGBT community- he is in favor of the First Amendment Defense Act (FADA) which allows LGBT people to be more subject to discrimination. He also prefers that marriage be defined as man and woman because he's a "traditional guy" and would "strongly consider" appointing SCOTUS judges who would overturn the same-sex marriage decision.
Trump is a racist because he makes judgments based solely on people's race, not what they've actually done- it doesn't get more textbook than that. Saying that a US judge cannot preside over his lawsuit because he is of Mexican heritage is a complete ad hominem attack lacking any evidence of actual bias. He's not wearing a white hood, but that is a racist statement and he makes them all the time. And this was not a single, out-of-character moment- he makes these statements often and repeatedly. Yes, some are taken out of context by an insane media, but to say that Trump is not a racist fails to objectively examine his statements.
Trump has also embraced the Republican positions of voter ID laws and restricting voter registration, both of which set back a US citizen's Constitutionally protected voting rights. The fiascoes with the primaries are different yet related- we should be making it easier for citizens to vote. It's absolutely clear that work can be done by both sides, but Trump (and the Republicans) are actively pursuing ways to make it harder for US citizens to register and be able to vote.
Additionally, prior to 2015, Trump held a plethora of different opinions and he's changed them all now. He was pro-choice, now he's pro-life; he was a fan of Obama, now he's not; he thought the wealthy should pay more in taxes, now he thinks they should pay less, he used to favor more gun control, now he favors less, etc. etc. He's no different than any other typical politician who flip-flops to earn votes. This is not a quality that only belongs to Hillary. And frankly, I really don't care what politicians thought 10-years ago. I care about what they are running on/for now, and while Hillary is far from perfect, Trump is closer to "worst".

Clearly you didn't watch the video. Out of over a billion votes cast there was 951 votes that could be classified as voter fraud. Majority were due to social security number mix ups or technical errors. 31 votes couldn't be accounted for. 31 out of a billion votes. Loving your cognitive dissonance here :). If only you were more worried about political donations from superpacs and lobbyers that influence how legislators vote than 31 votes that don't make a difference
