Lj Strenio as a stunt double for Vin Diesel in new XXX!!
Seriously, though, this was a cool project to be part of (on the ski front). With the trailer out, these should be good to post. Looks like LJ, Cody, and Sandy killed it down there. I know the shoot was pretty insane, so those guys + Sweetgrass should get a ton of respect for pulling off what they did.
Definitely going to be taking a company field trip to the movies when it is released.
Same here for sure. Also do y'all have any of those skis left? If so what about doing a auction for them where the money benefits one of the ski foundations or something like that? I'm pretty certain there's a bunch of people who would want those skis!

Pretty simple - Karl was one of the original skiers attached to the project, so he put them in touch with us as we had the capability to put out custom skis pretty quickly.
We didn't get to keep any of the skis we made. The filming was pretty rough on the gear so they wanted as many backups as they could get. I am sure some of them are floating around though. I suspect these skis were only used in shots where you would see the topsheet. You can see from the ski shapes & rocker profiles in the trailer that a few different brands were used.
We did try to use our green bases (haha we probably would have done it for free if they let us) but they preferred clear, which makes sense given that you need to ensure continuity between different shots/skis and the glow of the green bases might have made that difficult to edit (though I am not a film editor, so I don't really know).
I have to say, the thing I am a biggest fan of is the boot/binding interface. Pretty amazing.

It was done just as Sweetgrass did in their Baker edit in the woods a few years ago, though this XXX shoot was in the Dominican Republic. Tricks were really done in the rainforest, so yes, it is pretty insane what they were asked to do.

If Karl was one of the skiers attached, why hasn't he been listed as one of the stunt skiers? I know Cody Townsend, Sandy Boville, and LJ are involved. Karl didn't want to shave his head to stunt double for Xander Cage? Either way stoked for On3p and the skiers involved

He was involved early on and was flown down for some of the test shooting in the DR. Timing was hard though. This was shot in mid-to-late Feb I believe. Difficult time of year for a skier to spend a few weeks in the rainforest, so he ended up pulling out before the actual filming started.

Sweetgrass At Baker? Weeks of hard work. No idea on the XXX shoot. I am sure some of the athletes that were down there will release a bit more info. I am sure it was more of the same - shovel and repeat.

They tried a few different things but eventually brought in a truckload of ice and a wood chipper, and used cardboard boxes to land in. Pretty cool how it all worked out. I think LJ is planning on writing an article about everything that happened with all the details if he's allowed to, so hopefully that can happen!
