Most desirable part time job at a resort?

I could be way off here (probably am) but I had heard lift maintenance or engineer was pretty chill at least that is till a lift breaks then it blows.

Hotel/resort security is the best, it's almost all evening shifts, you basically walk around and check doors to make sure they are locked. If anything does go down ( it never does) you just call the cops.

also i'm going to sound like that guy, but how frowned upon is it to work the minimum amount of days to get a free epic pass?

working in hotels the past winter for me was a pretty good time. Plenty of hours/time off, lots of tip money (still have a ton of bills left over from the winter like some drug dealer shit), got to more than enough skiing in from working PM shifts (usually 2-3pm to about 10-11pm) and had the start of the week off (usually mon/tues or tues/weds).

Alternatives I would say are restaurant work because really their busier times of the day are dinner hours after skiing so youre almost guaranteed to be working evenings/nights. Gotta be okay with working weekends/holidays because literally almost every job like these ones require you to, but those are the worst times to be out and skiing.

If money is not a problem I would consider being a part time ski instructor. At Squaw we only had to give them 25 days, not sure if it is the same, and you get to meet and ski with cool people. You line up every hour and if you don't get a lesson you get to ski for the hour. They typically give the lessons to the full-time people so you will usually get to ski. I usually gave them 10-12 days between Dec 20 and New Years, 5 days during Feb ski week, and 7 weekends working 1-2 days. I don't recommend being a full-time instructor, as you will ski more than teach, but part-time works well. Check out the situation at the mountain before you commit though, if part-time is 3 days a week I would look for something else.

Work night food and beverage at the mountain. Basically bringing food and drinks up to all the on mountain restaurants/lodges/chalets/etc at night, unloading it, and bringing all the trash down. You work from about 4:00pm to 10-2am depending on the day. Usually get free dinner on the mtn, make whatever food you want. Also get a ton of free food to bring home. Being on the mtn at night is fun and sometimes sketchy. You'll get strong from loading and unloading stuff all night. Your work clothes will smell like garbage, but oh well.

Glad to hear it. When I did my ski bum years the pass was not nearly as expensive as it is now. Now the main reason to teach would be to meet people to ski with more so than to get the pass.

For the op: Like I said before do your research when you look into this.

Night shift groomer. Just steal a snowcat and drive through the boss's house. I guarantee he will hire you.
