Not sure, probably, but they call it Japanuary for a reason. Just go in January and save the guess work!

Japan December last year was the worst snow year in 30 years. I flew in from WA, still some of the best pow in my life.

Just booked my flights, and lodging for the end of december. Would have been so down for january but cant fit it with school so just hoping for the best.

It should be good, not quite as reliable as January however. I went early February this past year, and the conditions were somewhat unpredictable. Hit me up if you have any questions
