Best Resorts on the East Coast

Meant to post this under ski gabber but fuck it

Come to Sugarloaf, wayyy better than Killington, except for maybe the park scene. Less crowds, less assholes, cool terrain. Park was really fun this past season too.

For park, it up loon, mount snow are sugarbush

Stowe. By far.

Jay peak, sugarloaf, stowe, sugarbush/ mrg, cannon/ loon

PeppermillRenoStowe. By far.

I went there early April (School trip, I had no control over when they planned it) and there was almost no snow at all so I kind of want to go back mid winter to get the full experience. And of course it snowed 6 inches 2 days after we left lol.

Jay peak is def up there imo

killington is overrated imo, super crowded and shit. they do have some killer bumps in the spring tho.

jay peak will probably have a lot of snow mid-season (assuming el niño has left us for good, they usually have the most in new england). they don't have snow making tho, so i'd keep that in mind if you're going very early or late. i've personally never been, but i've heard great things about it. their terrain should be great too.

sugarloaf is another presumably incredible resort that i've never been to (kill me). a fuckton of terrain and i'm sure the snow is good that far north. also a ton of sidecountry. heard nothing but praise for it.

sunday river (the lifts stop a lot and the new one has an utterly idiotic design regarding wind, but other than that they're good), loon, cannon (will be a less crowded option and further south but more cold/windy because it's in a notch) are all good options too.

Again Stowe is the best because there is nothing 'wrong' with it. Lifts are great and terrain is great. (Sugarloaf has really shitty lifts and a horrible lift set up which ruins the place great hill though.) And again Stowe is an actual mountain on the drive to the parking lot you see that you will be skiing a huge ass gnarly steep mountain not a fuckin overgrown hill. (Vail or Park City for example are super underwhelming when you drive to them and don't see any steeps/danks pulling into the lot just some lifts going up a large flat ass hill.)

Yeah there's definitely something to be said about hitting Jay on a good dump. I got back from Utah one year when it snowed 3+ feet over a weekend at Jay so I went there right when I got back, it was better than when I rode in Utah.

Seven Springs for sure has the best parks on the east coast below New England. It's my home mountain so I might be a little bit biased, but there's a full size superpipe, 2 60' jumps, and tons of other nice jumps and rails.

Been to mt snow probably 10-15 times over the past 5 or so years and honestly have never been a big fan of their parks, had many awesome spring days there but far from my favorite place. Ya it's huge and there's like 10 parks but a lot of the time I feel like they put a lot of shit in just to have another feature, lots of cookie cutter features like flat rails and a frames. And maybe I've just gone on real busy days but the landings to most features got bombed out by 10am and there was never any park crew riding around raking any of them. I'm sure I'll continue to go there once or twice a year with liftopia deals and stuff as they seem to always have some sort of cheap pass, but if I were you I'd check out somewhere else. Sugarbush, Loon, Sunday river, Sugarloaf or Waterville would be my suggestions for a park trip
