phillyskierI hear you buddy. None of my friends are into it. All I have is my cousin and we always struggle finding people to ride with
afterbanginnYeah man if you live in new england im down to shred trying to get a season pass and just go alot this winter
phillyskierkinda wish i lived up there to be closer to the mountains. I live in Philadelphia but I tend to get up north a few times a year
RparrIt's like this in northeast ohio too, people skiing and snowboarding are a waste of money here. At least we have skiing here I suppose
afterbanginnIf your ever up near wachusett hmu man
phillyskierdefinitely will man. never heard of that mountain. how is it?
J_SIf anyone understands you its me.

afterbanginnIts hard to keep having a passion for skiing in a little town in Rhode Island where my best bud that went to college this year will not be here my senior year cause he's going out to colorado for school . I might be joining him next year but thats still another year I have no one to talk about ski shit with around except my dad be gets annoyed about it cause he's not that big into it. but i think the only thing that keeps me going is my own passion for skiing so i think it'll be alright thanks to NS..
36ChambersOfWuI feel for you man. I live in Vermont surrounded by mountains but none of my ski friends ski anymore. So I am at work 40 hours a week saving for skis and thinking about skiing all day and I have no one to get hyped with except my brother but even he gets bored of it sometimes. Plus he leaves for college in the fall and like you I am then stuck getting hyped by myself.
afterbanginnthats sweet i hit millington this year but the snow sucked and so did the park , sunday river was pretty good all year round though
.MortonIf you're ever heading to Bear Creek hit me up, I live pretty close and would be down to meet on a night/ weekend.

OregonDeadFeels. I got new skis yesterday and it is the coolest thing ever but no one wants to hear about it. My wife actually skis a ton so I have someone to ski with but she doesn't want to talk about it. After checking my skis out and deciding they are to long for her to bogart she is like go see if your friends online care.
ttelrabi live in PA, and theres nobody in my town that skis park other than me, all you gotta do is meet kids at your mountain, ive made some great friends from all over different parts of the state but were always at big boulder to ski so doesnt really matter how far you live from them
phillyskiernice we gotta get a meet up at bb
ttelrabim going to college this year in co but ill be home for winter and spring break probably
KravtZRhode Island really isn't that far from good skiing up in Vermont. I get it perhaps your town is more ocean oriented or something else...but you really aren't that far if you have a car. Try to look around online at some meetup groups, etc and meet people that way. You need to put yourself out there.

Mr.BishopYou know, there's something really cool and nostalgic about this.
When this Newschool shit first came around, nobody did it. You were always the outcast in your park. Kids at school were all into snowboarding, and everyone just thought that because you skied you were a racer.
The best part though was when you were out soul skiing in the park... cruising around alone with some good tunes and avoiding the snowballs from snowbaorders.... and then suddenly you see another dude riding around on twins.
Instantly - no matter what - you were friends.
There wasn't a judgement of if they were cool enough, no political leaning or difference in social status mattered. Nothing mattered. You were Newschool skiers and you were now best homies.
I built a lot of fantastic relationships in those days. Some have lasted, some have faded away. However, it was a pretty awesome experience, and you just might be the perfect candidate.

willyg0808Go to school in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Saw the sort of big scene around App Mountain and Snowflex and thought it would be the perfect combo of skiing and school. Turns out 2.5 hours is too far to travel mid week and it's hard to build strong relationships with the locals being a weekend warrior. I'm really the only park skier at my school now, but it pretty tight because it really feels like my thing here and I can introduce and get all my friends hype on the culture. Doesn't make my love for skiing fade.... Still can't wait to graduate and move out west doe
