How big of a deal is stand height?

Looking at picking up some on sale frame bindings. I'm between the Fischer Adrenalins and the Salomon Guardians. They'll be mounted on 2014 Mr Pollards Opus's and I'm concerned that the extra stand height on the Adrenalins will change the feeling of them. I am only wondering because the Adrenalins are significantly cheaper than the Guardians. Will the stand height actually be an issue or am I worried about nothing?

I'd just go with the adrenalins if they're significantly cheaper. I've ridden both and the difference was not extremely obvious, they both feel pretty similar to a standard alpine binding, the guardian seemed to have slightly less play in them.

both suck in their own way but work well in their own way. I rock opus's with guardians and hardly tell the difference (most of the time). obviously closer to the ski is better always though.

In a side by side test, I felt like the Adrenalines gave the best "feel" of the ski out of the main plate binding brands...

The Guardian/Tracker bindings seemed funky, and Dukes, while they're not bad, still don't always feel that great - especially after a few years of actual sidecountry use.

The Adrenaline seemed to be the best design out of the three if you really want my opinion. Plus, they're lighter if I'm not mistaken? (not that it matters as all of them are heavy)

i agree-- i went with the adrenalins when i was deciding which of the 3 frame AT bindings to get and i was very happy with them. lighter, seem to have better feel, and fewer problems reported about them.

OP, if theyre cheaper for you, i say def go with them

yeah their stand height is a bit higher but i dont think that's as big a big deal for this type of skiing. and that's coming from someone who demands minimal stack height on park/resort skis

None of them will really give you the lateral power you're used to, but that's what you give up for the touring function.

I feel more powerful in my tech bindings than in my Adrenalines. Those things are going goodbye this year.
