Terrorist attack in Tel Aviv

4 killed, 13 suffered gun shot wounds, and 4 including the suspect are being treated at hospitals.

Two Palestinian terrorists opened fire at a market. Where is the media and world reaction to this terrorist attack? Where are the #IAmTelAviv posts?

Ill tell you where the media are; BBC, USA Today, The New York Times, and probably other major news outlets are focusing not on the terrorist attack that killed four in Tel Aviv, but that "Palestinian permits are frozen after attack" -BBC Headline about the terrorist attack. BBC also has the headline "Tel Aviv shooting: Israel suspends Palestinian permits"

"Israel imposes travel restrictions on Palestinians after Tel Aviv attack" - New York Times headline

"Israel revokes travel permits, deploys troops after attacks" -USA Today headline

Its unbelievable. A terrorist attack was carried out in a market similar to where one was in Paris and the media is running headlines about travel permits being suspended during Ramadan. What the fuck. Israel is hit with a terrorist attack, yet somehow they are still pictured as the bad guys.

I usually try to keep my opinions out of the OP, but fuck it this time. This is such bullshit.

californiagrownThe tiny and hated part is true though. It's never been the biggest religon, just a powerful one... which has led to jealousy and hatred... and the fact that the big 3 all claim the same holy ground but Jews have a small population comparatively makes you the common enemy.

That actually is a good question- as the oldest abrahamic religon, why do you think it hasn't spread nearly as much as the other two?


In my personal experiences, Jews have not pushed our religion onto others like other religions do. We do not try to convert people to Judaism. Thats not to say people dont convert, but that is usually a very in-depth process that requires a lot of work. Id say thats the main reason why it hasn't spread as much, becuase we have not tried to.

And what I meant about the tiny and hated part is people think the hatred is justified because weve been hated throughout history. You are correct its true.

I've heard several reports from women traveling to the more ultra-Orthodox areas of Israel (a radio documentary about it too) saying that women's rights in those areas are hardly better than some of the worst Muslim countries. Places where if you're a women walking down the street without a man you'll have stuff thrown at you and such.

I don't think this example is an anomaly either. The religion is far closer to Islam than Christianity when it comes to social issues like this.

It also seems to be revered in a more cult-like way by its members than most, if not all, other religions. It's not an inclusive religion like Christianity and doesn't seem to embrace converts as readily giving the more elitist impression.


Maybe I have the wrong impression, but definitely seems to be #2 when it comes to Abrahamic religions (granted there are only 3 large ones) and right up there for bad religions when adding in all the east Asian ones.
