We keep talking about this.
Progression has shifted in many different directions. The sport.
We're seeing more weird events these days. People out having fun. A resurgence of style.
I think it's all good.
Honestly the glory days of action sports were when it hit mainstream enough to blow up, but still be raw enough. Announcers didn't give a fuck and asked ridiculous questions, it was a different scene.
I don't really care though. The sports are healthy. There's plenty of money in it. It's all good.

Glory days of progression had to be late 90's through mid 2000's....don't think tricks can really get more progressed just due to sheer size of features.
I love the new creative approach skiers are taking these days and also am a huge fan of the increase in backcountry / side country / resort video parts now.
I think its awesome that people are showing videos and edits of how creative they can get inbounds a resort. Very relatable to the every day skier also

Progression in action sports will never stop. I think its bad sometimes though, there has to be a ceiling for some of these sports
Soon enough you will have to hit a 50ft ramp to be able to do a trick that hasn't been done yet, and not so many people will be willing to do it. Also you will have to train that much harder and longer and sacrifice your life just to make it. I think this will hurt sports in general because there will be less competition because you have to push the envelope so far, and some people don't have the resources or balls to do it.
Whats next for freestyle mx? People are getting so gnarly there are only a few select people able to do something new off a 70ft ramp jump. Thats probably why Xgames brought in that quarter pipe. New tricks like body varials and new style can be introcoduced
And who the fuck wants to send it more than anyone who goes to Pastranas? I don't think anyone will be topping that anytime soon.
All times are Eastern (-5)
