Preferred Bindings?

There is a lot of different preferences for skiers these days. Personalty I have been riding FKS and Looks for years and I haven't had any problems other than the occasional brake bend, but many of my friends hate them and prefer Markers. What do you guys like and why?

Pivot/FKS because the pivoting heel comforts me, and they are a lot better looking than most bindings. My old Griffons were heavy and the plastic wore away in spots. The toepiece also looks weird.

Rode Salomon/Marker for a while. Now I'm on FKS's and I refuse to ride any other binding.

Ive had 5 broken brakes in a season on Markers, and have seen Griffons blow up like 3 or 4 times this year from friends who are now on Pivots and will never go back. Personally I rode Pivots and Attack 13s and enjoyed both, but if I had the choice id go pivots. Markers don't feel like you are completely clicked in, Attacks hold up but feel real plastic-like. I have a pair of Salomon sth2 13s sitting in a box that I really want to try out so I can have a feel for the 4 most popular binding choices out (Marker Griffon, Look Pivot/FKS 12/14, Attack 13s/16s, and the Salomon sth2 13/16).

FKS. Call it a bad case of Stockholm Syndrome, but I'll still love them no matter how many times they violate my bum.

I have a pair of skis with jester pro's and another pair of skis with FKS 140's. The thing I like about the jesters is that they have an adjustable afd. I really don't have any problems with either binding, but saying you'll never use markers because squires are bad is like saying you'll never ride looks because px 120's are bad, which btw I have had 3 pairs of them break and have not ridden them since I was 13.

squires are a kids binding... they are not meant for aggressive park skiing. get the right tool for the job and you wont be disappointed

frankcoldersquires are a kids binding... they are not meant for aggressive park skiing. get the right tool for the job and you wont be disappointed


I was well within the recommended size and ability level when I owned them, they were still trash and pre released a lot

How heavy were you and what kind of stuff were you doing? I wouldn't recommend them for anyone over 100 lbs.

I have axial's and tyro attacks.

Both awesome bindings never had an issue with them. Though I prefer the feeling of the attack 13's a bit more

I was 105lbs, just learning park (boxes, 15 foot jumps) and even then marker recommends them up to 240lbs (wtf?)

If it was free10s or something I would understand but marker should stop trying to sell those to freeskiers at all

I have at least one set of bindings from all the major brands. Its all about the right tool for the ski. Tech has a place just like pivots have a spot in my rotation. all do the job they were intended for. Some are just better for different riding styles.

STH2 13 or 16's, after a year of park riding on mine I've only broken one brake and put cosmetic scratches on them. Solid and reliable binding only releases when necessary.

Fks trumps all is too vague. You clowns.



fks 180/155 or sth2 16ers. Ride either of those. Never go back to plastic toe piece.

Fks 140s do have their place, and are soled.

Attacks are next on the list

and last but not least. The markers... Melt them down and sell for scrap plastic.

FKS 180 all day erryday, ive owned a pair of jesters, they broke, a pair of tyrolia peak 15s, they broke, and a pair of atomic sth2 16s, didnt break but the brakes got super tweaked and the heel started to rattle like a snake after a season of use. the fks are heavy as shit and the dildo gives me nightmares, but the small footprint and the lack of unnecessary release keeps me coming back. most people i know who have used markers either have a nasty knee injury story from releasing when they shouldn't have, or the binding only lasted them 2 seasons. i just bought a cast touring system so now one of my pairs has an interchangeable pin tech toe just like the marker kingpin. a tiny bit more weight when im skiing, but touring is light as fuck and so dope compared to a Salomon guardian (the only other touring binding ive used, which wasnt so bad). cast makes wtr compatible afds for the pivot as well, so now im using my salomon ghost with rockered tech soles on an fks 180.
