Basically, is it possible to get better at skiing without skiing? Is there anything that I could do to be better at skiing this summer without skiing because i won't have access to that, or a backyard setup.

downhill mountain biking is probably the best thing to help with shredding the mountain.

never tried it but whitewater kayaking seems like it would be really simlar to skiing. looks like a ton of fun. i bet all that airy water would almost feel like pow.

I don't think that training by itself will make you better once the new season starts but it will sure help you get better more quickly once you start skiing again.

I think a mix of mountain biking, strength training, yoga, skateboarding, and rock climbing would be the best mix to get you strong and limber. In turn you'll be able to ski harder, for longer, and take bigger hits without getting hurt.

Whatever you do, just find some fun activities that keep you active and in shape and you'll be pretty set.

I usually get out of shape in the summer and it only takes like two days of skiing to get over the cramps and soreness. I'm young though so I don't lose it as fast.

I don't have access to a backyard set up either, but I normally work on the tramp. It helps when learning new tricks and gives you an idea on how the trick feels before bringing it to the slope. If you wanna improve balance or something, take a small plank of wood and put it on a frozen water bottle. That's works too. Good luck with everything.

I'm not even kidding, I could barely hit a rail to save my life last year, maybe a few here and there but they were all super small and mellow, so all summer I watched edits and such, studying how people looked when they got on them etc , and the first day out this season, I was easily able to hit almost every rail out, and even go urban on to them, it was crazy

I got really bored last summer, and so started doing rail tricks on my trampoline and it actually helped my rail game more than my summer setup.

I do that too. Like some times I'll dip my foot to simulate pedaling. I'll also do flip on flip offs and backslides and other weird rail stuffs

I run a lot out doors and am always lifting in the gym. Biking is a great workout also.

Anything that is a solid full body workout will help out. If you don't hit the gym on a regular basis definitely start getting into a training program

Biking is the perfect cross training for skiing. Also, take up skateboarding, or blading.

Head to the gym and don't skip leg day. You'll have much stronger legs and you'll be able to push harder through your boots and get more power out of em.

do everything people are saying here. personally i would suggest:

go workout (focus on core and legs but keep it even w upper body)

skate board (build tolerance to eating shit + good balance)

tramp

blade

slack line


Most importantly have fun with it. its all pointless if youre not having fun

Train on Tramp (Find a gymnastics facility if you can)

Turf Set Up

Run, Bike, etc.

Eat Good

I kinda have a theory that all action sports are linked. Thats why all the nitro circus guys can just pick up anything with wheels and absolutely kill it with no experience whatsoever. Thats also why Henrik did dub on snowboard his first day out. So basically just find some action sport to keep yourself busy

Slack lining is really good for your balance. once you learn how to jump you can practice spins on, off and switch ups. Just pretend the line is a rail and make sure you put it low in the binning.
