theabortionatorThe quote is actually "No person that doesn't stop breathing and die at a young age can call themselves an environmentalist"
If you're breathing you're destroying nature.
Only if you live an existence defined by consuming and don't provide anything back. The beauty of the human condition is that we also have the ability to restore and give back to the environment, with positive impact well beyond our own personal emissions and consumption. The C02 you exhale helps plants survive anyways.
Your "quote" does not deserve to be quoted, because frankly it's lazy pessimistic bullshit.
If we want to bring skiing into this, listen to JP Auclair's quote in that sherpas movie a while back. He made a call, not for doing less, but for doing more. If your impact can extend beyond yourself and inspire others to act in any positive way, that can be more beneficial than reducing personal energy consumption in isolation.
