In a last-ditch effort to remain relevant he's flinging more shit at Jon, this time for driving a Lambo around on a glacier.

I am the first to admit that Jon's vlogs are a little self absorbed but who the fuck really takes issue with him fanging around in that car by pulling the climate change card. What a wanker.

Haters gonna hate. Jon driving the lambo up there is just really cool to see, and if you would calculate the yearly co2 emmissions of that thing it would not compare to regular cars, as that thing barely gets driven.
Jacob should just relax, there are more effective ways to counter global warming than twitter about it.

I do agree with Jacob here...its a bit ridiculous. That being said it was a pretty sick video. If I had a lambo would totally do that also if I could.

The amount of emissions being put out by a lambo though really is nothing compared to the countless MASSIVE trucks/suvs, some of them with lifts and bigger tires, driving up to the mountain every single weekend.

I understand why he is concerned with the environment, but i would not talk shit and then go post a pic of me heli skiing on my insta (Helicopters have a huge carbon footprint compared to that of a car, fact). If you want to take a stab at him, post another crunchy ass touring pic of some iced over couloir, you did not ski like the other environmental skiers out there (that no one cares to follow, unless you are a suburban house mom looking at pic after you take your xanny).

jacob's problem has always been that he never let his skiing speak for itself. And the worst part is he never has anything nice to say. Remember the freestyle.ch or whatever in like 2008 when he got snubbed from the invite list and then proceeded to go on an e-banter about it. Dude is a good skier, but not a good businessman.

Jon on the other hand isn't really even a professional skier anymore. He's a full blown celebrity, and used his former ski career to launch his celebrity career. Best businessman around.

What jacob's really saying here is that he's jealous of the other similarly aged blonde haired swede who made it.

im sure he has gotten a few but he has been based pretty much solely in Chamonix this season, ( atleast thats what you get from his blog). any trips he's done b&e he drives to in his van i think.

Okay, now that is a bit ridiculous. I assume Jacob made this post? Either way, at what point does this argument end at. If all those different types of skiing transportations are considered "bad", couldn't the same be said about driving to your local tour site, or even ski production itself?

You know what, maybe Jacob has a point. We should all simply just stop skiing because our environmental impact is too great. Or, if we do ski, we should limit ourselves to our backyard where nothing will be harmed.

Nah, JK of course. Whoever does attempt to make this argument can take an L though, because there is little reasoning to back it

This thread is fucking aids. Driving a car on a glacier won't kill the enviroment, same way heli skiing won't kill the environment. Same way boarding a fucking plane won't kill the environment (seriously whoever made that comparison, please kill yourself).

What is killing the environment however is everyone's reliance on meat, and I applaud Jacob for not eating meat. He's doing a lot more for the environment than any of you fuckboys on here complaining about helicopters and commercial flights are doing.

Air travel makes up about 5% of all emissions. The meat industry makes up 51% of all emissions. And the carbon footprint of a vegetarian is just over half. What would you prefer everyone to do, continue to eat meat and not drive cars or planes and stay inside their own little 2 km bubble, or be able to move freely among the world and reduce their carbon footprint a lot more than if they were to walk everywhere by just switching to a plant based diet?

I think there's just something annoying about watching someone who has acquired more wealth than any of us will acquire and just spend it all on things that don't matter and don't improve the lives of anyone else.
It kind of exposes the shittiness of a person when they have all the power to make things better for others and choose to fuck around and waste it on themselves.

It's not like he could end world hunger if he stopped driving nice cars. He was lucky enough to make a bunch of money doing something he loves, and he has every right to spend it however he wants. It doesn't make him a shitty person to spend his own money on himself. Even those of us that don't make nearly as much as jon could still probably spend more of our own money to help others than we do, but we don't. does that make us shitty people? I don't think so.

100% agree. In America today it is almost looked down upon to be wealthy and spend your money on things you want aka nice cars, house, etc.

EVERYONE wants to be wealthy obviously most don't have the ability/skills/etc. But i'll tell you this...its a sad state in America. When most look down upon those "evil" wealthy people.

Ok, than that is a personal gripe that you need to get over. Your statement makes you sound envious and that is not cool. "If I had Jon's money I would do this with it!"... that is great, good for you.... but you don't have it and have no right to dictate how he spends what he has earned... if you make a lot of money you are free to do what you please with it, just please don't tell others what to do with theirs (they owe you nothing).

You sound like you are caught up in the Bernie Sanders dogma of money = evil and anyone with money got that money from exploiting others. That is simply not the case. The vast majority of people with money earned that money by creating things that others value (and often times, that requires creating jobs to produce whatever it is that people value). The rich person didn't force anyone to work for them or force anyone to buy their product - they gained wealth because they added value to society that others were voluntarily willing to exchange money for. Welcome to progress and freedom to make choices on your own, it's a beautiful thing!

I think what normally gets people who are less wealthy is that a large portion of those who are rich are rich off the backs of those who are poor.

And a huge portion of them didn't work their way up from the bottom rungs of society, the vast majority are born into the upper class and are fortunate enough to afford an expensive business degree or what have you. Then they get really rich off those doing the backbreaking labour and who are getting paid peanuts while they've never had to lift a hammer in their lives.

That's why people resent them. Especially then when the poor labourers see the money they are making for the rich be put into frivolous luxuries instead of back into the people who make them rich.


Obviously this is not always the case, but it's the case a lot of the time.
