Not only so people can appreciate your weapons of choice, but it might give those who are interested in touring an idea of what to look for. Expanding on that- maybe you could also include how much you tour/where/and why you ride what you do!
Moment Exit World 190cm - Powder
Armada Kufo 108 188cm - Do it all weapon
Moment Tahoe 187?cm - No idea
Atomic Ultimate 85 176cm - Steeps in spring and weird summer tours
Old sets that I used to run were -
Beast 16s with 2014 bent chetler 192s. Absolutely destroyed the toe pieces on the beasts and killed the bents -1 from centre
Revision subtractions 186 with plum yaks pretty sweet set up relatively light only problem was with the toe pieces ice got wedged in between the mechanism and wrecked it. Centre mounted
Current set ups
Melt Levity 182 with speedlite 2.0s for my park rando race rig -2 from centre - Pomoca tipon climb pro
Melt Mavericks with beast 16s with 2016 (stay away from limited edition green)toe pieces centre mounted - pomoca free
Probably will end up ripping or blowing the superlites apart. Most of the skiing I do is ice riding, always having issues with ice. Only reason for having the superlites on the levitys is for running laps not paying for a lift ticket.
Boots wise I had a pair of dynafit mercurys but they did not feel natural riding so I grinded off all the bump stops inside the boot for a more natural flex added a intuition liner. Boot wise now just a pair of atomic backland carbons they are perfect
Dynafit Chugach with Rad ST 2.0 demos and Pomoca skins.
snagged as a demo setup for cheap and have been pretty fun so far. Demo bindings are slightly annoying due to weight but I think I'm gonna mess with mounting position on Chugach's this winter, try out something more centered.
Steeple 102, G3 ION - Pretending to be a directional skier, also surprisingly good in pow. Also, they are just a sick ski.
KF All Mountain, G3 ION - Jumping off stuff in firmer conditions and skiing a little more like I would inbounds.
KF Tours Lite, Dynafit Speed Turn - walking a long way to ski just a little bit.
I also had the ION's on my Shreditor 112's, and my Subtractions at various points last year, and loved it, so I may want to do something similar to that again.
Trying to change it up a little, got Kingpins I want to throw on a Kartel 108 / K2 Marksman / Armada ARV 106 type ski, and then I also want to go a little skinnier and lighter, get a more skimo setup with ultralight bindings for those trips where I walk a lot and ski a very little bit. Probably going for Atomic Backland 95's or something.
Turning into one of those obnoxious quiver people, I almost long for the days when I just had Shreditor 112's with Guardians for everything. Almost, not quite.
Just got set up with some Surface Live Free 181's and Dynafit FT12s, we'll see how it goes! Hoping to get ahold of a lighter pow setup by the spring as well.
Kastle BMX 108 with Beast 14 with the BD mix mohair skin. no ascent limit imo.
I m currently looking for something skinny for summer touring. steeple 98, agent 90 ... with a tlt expedition. Will need another boot too. I think I ll grab some stuff in spring...

my do it all/ touring / sidecountry set up this year is gonna be kartel 108's i'm stoked to try it out.
4FRNT Ravens w/ Guardian 16's. Want to go with a lighter binding next year but trying not to get too ahead of myself, just starting to get my feet wet with touring. Excited to make some dreamy turns this year, though.
Heaviest setup Ive ever felt, recently did my first hut trip with 2500m over 3 days and it was really hard so Im looking at picking up either: devastators+thaynes or candide 2.0+4.0s and putting SI&I with pivots on both.
Blizzard Zero G 108s with Marker Kingpin 13
Really light for a very strong ski! Skied occasionally in the resort as well and the kingpins handled everything very well, even when skied hard on hardpack. Pair them with Tecnica Cochise 130s
BelzebubSolly Rocker2 108 with Beast 14s. Close to the perfect one ski quiver imo, no problems going switch, nosebutters etc
So do you like your Rocker2's? I've ridden an older pair and really hated them, not my style of riding at all, are they any different from the older rides? Always been curious to hear the reasons people like those guys. At least you like em though lol

Hahah I dont ski much in open alpine terrain. They feel like an all mountain version of the Armada JJ but with longer radius and less abrupt rocker. It helps that I ski them in a 182cm length which is four inches longer then I am tall. They flop around like a motherfucker if I try to bomb through crud, but I am willing to compromise to get a more playful ski.

Alright real interesting! Thanks for the input my man! I can appreciate a reason like that for sure, I myself enjoy a playful ski every once in a while as well so to each their own lol
I've got a pair of 190 Praxis pow boards (138 underfoot) with G3 ion LTs on them. Not in the slightest the most practical setup in the world but they're so fun for the pow days on Berthoud pass and in RMNP. Definitely worth checking out Praxis if you haven't already
I also have a pair of 185 Black Diamond Helio 116s with KIngpins for the longer stuff. Use them all year round and they ski through anything. Ridiculously light too.
Fisher Sports Tour Classic's for bindings.
Reasons:
-Uses the same technology as Dynafit, but is 1/3rd the price on promotive.
-Uses a two piece ultra light system, so you barley feel any additional weight.
-Is extremely easy to use and stronger than any frame AT bindings out there.
Salomon Quest Pro TR for boots.
Reasons:
-Has walk mode for easier ascending.
-Is compatible with traditional tech AT bindings. (Ex. Dynafit, Fischer)
-Has laces to tighten the liner prior to tightening your buckles for added ankle support.
J Skis The Friend for skis.
Reasons:
-J Skis makes the best performing skis for every aspect of skiing from park to pow.
-Jason's satisfaction guarantee and warranty are actually legitimate.
-The Friend is my favorite powder skis, so fuck everything else.
I've never been happier with an AT setup.
I tend to hike with AT gear during the peak of the winter's here when there's enough snow to cover all the rocks. I did 2x hut trips this winter and am planning on doing way more next season.
Black Diamond Helio 106 with Dynafit Speed Radical - Dynafit TLT6 boot
-this is my main workhorse. Fairly light and it's gotten me to a bunch of badass places this year. Took a while for me to get used to the set up though with the boots.
Black Diamond Justice with older Dynafit TLT classics - BD Quadrant Boot
-was my main set up before the helios. I still use it for big pow days or when its too cold for my TLT6s
Black Diamond Justice with G3 Targa telebindigns. Honestly, I've toured with them like once. its mostly a set up to learn tele, but maybe ill get better at tele and use them while touring early season low angle bullshit.
(context) I tour 80-100 days a year so that's the reason for multiple set ups.
2015 Line SFB w. Salomon Guardian 16s
Salomon QST Pro boots
Not the lightest setup but it's just for day trips and slack country. Got the boots last season and it made a yuge difference coming from dalbello kr rampage boots.
BelzebubSolly Rocker2 108 with Beast 14s. Close to the perfect one ski quiver imo, no problems going switch, nosebutters etc
How are the Beast 14's for more playful skiing? I bought a pair as a sort of no-compromise binding but have been seeing people hesitant to take air or ride/land switch on them.
gots some 188 og ist gen bro models with silvertas pures from the days when tech binders maxed at 10 din and the boot options sucked
a pure lotus 120 190 with atk freeraider 14 and pomoca skins as a $$$ lightweight pow slayering long tour rig
some splatulas with heavy ass dukes as an uber deep sidecountry one n done rig
a well worn pair of kusla pows with dyna 1st gen rads and a new pair with look branded dyna rad 2's as a daily driver
a dps lotus 138 with dynalook plates and old dyna verts on em should ski em more than i do but not my favorite uphill or traversing out thu a gate ski
there's a pair of 186 lhasa pows that need dynaverts remounted as rock skis
and i picked up a new pair of atk freeraiders that ill put on either the unmounted pure carbon 2x4 flex kusalas that i'm scared of
or the 187 lhasa fats
i may try n pick up another pair of lotus 120's as theve been replaced by the 124's
was driving everything with a dyna titan ul's but the ornery kid convinced me to try them hawx 130xtd's

180 Boone Magicstic 93 that havent fallen apart at all with Frischi Freeride Pros
_faaaYo, how do the backland carbons compare to a maestrale RS especially on wider skis like 95-105mm waist ?
No comparison. The Badlands are a great hiker. They clime well and are light and that's about it. The new RS has the most progressive flex I have tried ( and that's a lot of boots) compared to any touring boot out there. The skiability of the boot is unmatched for a pure touring boot and still hike extremely well. The Scarpa intuition liner is warmer and way more comfortable. I use the badlands as just a light weight peak grabber but not much else.

Ski mostly resort with some side country and some weekend jaunts in the back country. Maybe a little heavy on the up compared to a full tech binding but the peace of mind of a full alpine binding on the way down is worth it as well as being able to charge in the resort with no worry. Definitely gonna invest in a light touring exclusive set up soon though.
PacificRimJobThe date marker says June 1999. Blue, Silver, and Magenta
do you trust those bindings?
we got a pair of skis in the consignment shop i work at with those same bindings and all i could think is that the bindings made my knees worries

I trust mine. I would say I like them even more than my g3 or markers. Steel ftw.
